"The Banger" is a single by Nigerian recording artist Runtown, featuring vocals from South African music group Uhuru. It was released as a single off his debut studio album titled '' Ghetto University'' on 9 December 2014 through Eric-Manny Entertainment and went on to become a club favorite after receiving numerous airplay and positive reviews. Douglas Jack Agu (born 19 August 1989), known by his stage name Runtown, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer. His music blends Afrobeats, hip-hop, R&B, and reggae. He first gained media attention and popularity with his song "Gallardo (Runtown song), Gallardo" (2014), which featured Davido. His 2016 single "Mad Over You" was remixed by Mr Eazi. Uhuru (Swahili: ''freedom'') were a South African musical group best known for producing the hit single " Khona" performed by Mafikizolo. Signed to Kalawa Jazmee, the band consisted of Nqobile Mahlanu (Mapiano), Sihle Dlalisisa (DJ Clap), Xelimpilo Simelane (Xeli) and Themba Sekowe (DJ Maphorisa).
