The Backseat Boyz
The Backseat Boyz were a professional wrestling tag team that consisted of Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere who competed in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Unplugged, Combat Zone Wrestling, Assault Championship Wrestling, the Premier Wrestling Federation, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, and Japan together. They were the first team in history to hold both the ROH Tag Team Championship and the CZW Tag Team Championship. The team disbanded following Acid's death in 2010. Kashmere has managed the new BackSeat Boyz tag-team of JP Grayson and Tommy Grayson since 2023. History The Backseat Boyz were well known for their work in Combat Zone Wrestling. Michael Verdi (November 12, 1980 – June 18, 2010), best known by his ring name Trent Acid, was an American Professional wrestling, professional wrestler. He worked as a tag team wrestler for most of his career, primarily as part of The Backseat Boyz with Johnny Kashmere, in several American Independent circuit, independent promotions, including Combat Zone Wrestling and Ring of Honor. He also worked a singles career with several promotions, including Juggalo Championship Wrestling. John Zandig
John Corson (born April 4, 1971), better known by the ring name John Zandig, is an American professional wrestler and promoter. He is the founder and former owner of the promotion Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW). Early life Corson was born in Sewell, New Jersey. Before he was a professional wrestler, Corson was an explosives and demolition expert. Professional wrestling career Corson began training as a wrestler in 1994 and adopted the ring name John Zandig in 1999, his surname deriving from Misfits' front man and fellow New Jersey native, Glenn Danzig. The ROH World Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling world tag team championship owned by the Ring of Honor (ROH) promotion; it is contested for in their tag team division. The championship was created and debuted on September 21, 2002, at ROH's Unscripted event. East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) is an American professional wrestling promotion, founded in 1967 by promoter Jim Kettner. It is home to the annual Super 8 Tournament, one of the longest-running independent wrestling tournaments in the country, as well as the annual ECWA Women's Super 8 Tournament. In 2010, Kettner announced his retirement and turned the promotion over to Mike Tartaglia and Joe Zanolle. Mike Tartaglia officially put the company on hiatus on June 5, 2019.
