Thangarathinam
''Thangarathinam'' is a 1960 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by S. S. Rajendran. The film stars S. S. Rajendran and Vijayakumari. Plot Thangam is a young man from a rich family studying in Chennai. When he goes to his village during holidays, he meets a poor girl, Rathinam. Both becomes lovers. He returns to Chennai before his father Mirasudhar Nallamuthu Pillai learns of his love affair. Selvam is Thangam's friend. Two girls, Seethai and Meena are in love with Selvam. But Selvam loves Seethai. Meena is in frustration. Meena receives a telegram that her mother is not well. When she goes to the village, her mother has already died. Lakshman Sruthi - The Musical Consortium was founded by V. Raman & V. Lakshmanan in the year 2003. Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra The Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra is a Manual Orchestra founded by V. Lakshmanan in the name of Sruthi Innisai mazhai in 1987 with 10 students; since then, it has performed over 7,800 times in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and across the world. This orchestra maintains completely manual orchestration: it does not use synthesizers or any other electronic equipment. It was the first orchestra to carry out a 36-hour non-stop light music performance on 17–18 December 1994 at Kamarajar Arangam in Chennai, India. In doing so, it set a world record. Film News Anandan (born Mani) was an Indian film historian and photographer based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He was popularly known as the "walking encyclopedia" of Tamil cinema. Early life Anandan was born as Mani. His father P. K. Gnanasagaram was a government servant. When he was being admitted in school he told his principal his name was Anandakrishnan, which later became his legal name, and was further shortened to Anandan. After school, he joined Quaide Millath Arts college, then known as Government Arts college. When he was a college student, he had a chance to interact with the drama troupes of Y. G. Parthasarathy and M. G. Ramachandran among others. He used to write the dialogues, do stage management and help in small odd jobs. Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; (27 September 1933 – 31 January 2009) was an Indian actor, mostly remembered for his roles as a comedian in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 Cinema of India, films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. He has also acted in Telugu language, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films. Nagesh's style of comedy was largely inspired by Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis.
