Thamir Muhsin
Thamir Muhsin (1938–1995) was a senior lecturer at the Baghdad University, and a respected football coach in the Iraqi top division having managed at Al-Jamiea and the Iraq. He was born, and died, in Baghdad. The trainer worked closely with former Al-Maslaha teammate Wathiq Naji with the Iraqi youth team and spent time at the prestigious German Deutsche Hochschule fur Korperkultur (German College for Body Culture: D.H.f.K.) in Leipzig. Al-Talaba Sports Club ( ar, نادي الطلبة الرياضي, lit=''Students Sports Club'') is an Iraqi sports club based in Al-Rusafa, Baghdad. Its football team competes in the Iraqi Premier League, the top flight of Iraqi football. Founded in 1977, it was merged with another club called Al-Jamiea ahead of the 1978–79 season. Their home stadium is Al-Talaba Stadium. Al-Talaba are one of Iraq's most successful teams having won five league titles, with the most recent being in the 2001–02 season. They have also achieved two FA Cups, one Super Cup and a joint-record three Elite Cups. Iraq National Football Team
The Iraq national football team ( ar, منتخب العراق لكرة القدم) represents Iraq in international football and is controlled by the Iraq Football Association (IFA), the governing body for football in Iraq. Iraq's usual home venue is the Basra International Stadium. Iraq have made one FIFA World Cup appearance in 1986, scoring their only goal against Belgium. They are one of eight current AFC nations to have won the AFC Asian Cup, claiming the title in 2007 in spite of difficult conditions and limited preparation. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya ( ar, نادي القوة الجوية الرياضي, lit=Air Force Club) is an Iraqi sports club based in Rusafa District, Baghdad that competes in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football.
