Thames Clippers
Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is a set of river bus services on the River Thames in London, England. The company operates both commuter services between eastern and Central London and tourist services under licence from London River Services. At present they transport around 10,000 passengers daily on average. Company Sean Collins co-founded Thames Clippers in 1999 with partner Alan Woods as Collins River Enterprises. Thames Clippers was then taken over in September 2006 by the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), who promised substantial investment into the company to upgrade the services and to provide a more frequent "hop-on-hop-off" between Central London and The O2 (London), The O2, also owned by AEG. In September 2003, Thames Clippers was awarded a ten-year contract to operate the service. Barking Riverside Pier
Barking Riverside Pier is an Uber Boat by Thames Clippers commuter service pier located on the River Thames at Barking Riverside. Passenger services began on 26 April 2022. The pier provides interchange with Barking Riverside railway station and local bus routes. The pier was brought into use following a renovation of the reinforced concrete coaling jetty previously used by Barking Power Station. History The existing structure was built in 1940 in order to bring coal to Barking Power Station. Earlier jetty structures were found at the site as early as 1864 and a coaling jetty was constructed with the power station in 1925. Construction of the passenger pier began in 2021 and cost £7.3 million. Design The 1940 T-shaped jetty consists of a deck and supports made from reinforced concrete. The London Eye (Waterloo) Pier is directly in front of the London Eye ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in Central London, England. It was opened as the Waterloo Millennium Pier in 2000. It is served by various river transport and cruise operators. It should not be confused with the former Waterloo Police Pier, on the opposite side of the river on Victoria Embankment next to Waterloo Bridge, which has since been renamed the Tower Lifeboat Station and has been the base for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, RNLI's Thames Lifeboat (rescue), lifeboat service since 2006. It is served by boats operated by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers under licence from London River Services and is situated between Lambeth Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge on Millbank. St George Wharf is a riverside development in Vauxhall, Lambeth, London, England, located on the southern bank of the River Thames beside Vauxhall Bridge. Westminster Millennium Pier
Westminster Pier is a pier on the River Thames, in the City of Westminster in London, England. Former Westminster Floating Pier The former Westminster Floating Pier existed on the site through the 1950s, running along the Thames between Kew and the London docks.
