Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is an Indian shared universe consisting of Hindi-language supernatural comedy horror films created by Maddock Films. All films in this universe are based on Indian folklore. The first installment, '' Stree,'' was released as a standalone film. The universe-building began with '' Bhediya'', in which characters from ''Stree'' appeared. This was followed by '' Munjya'', where characters from ''Bhediya'' and ''Stree'' appeared. ''Stree 2'' continued by featuring characters from ''Bhediya'', making ''Stree'' and ''Bhediya'' the central links connecting all three films. Films ''Stree'' The first installment of the franchise is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj & DK. It stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee. Dinesh Vijan
Dinesh Vijan is an Indian film producer and founder of entertainment company Maddock Films. He has produced over 35 films under this banner. Early life and career Vijan gave up his banking job in 2004 to pursue a career in films. In 2018, he married Pramita Tanwar. From 2007 to 2014, he co-owned the production house, Illuminati Films, alongside actor Saif Ali Khan. Amar Kaushik is an Indian filmmaker. He is best known for directing the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe films '' Stree'' (2018), '' Bhediya'' (2022), and '' Stree 2'' (2024), as well as the satire '' Bala'' (2019). Early life He was born in Kanpur city in the state of Uttar Pradesh in a Gaur Brahmin family. Amar Kaushik grew up in Medo, Arunachal Pradesh where his father was a forest ranger who worked for the Indian Forest Service and his mother Shashi was a school teacher. When he was 10 years old, the family moved to Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He later studied mass communications in Delhi and moved to Mumbai in 2006. ''Tumbbad'' is a 2018 Hindi-language period folk horror film directed by Rahi Anil Barve. Additionally, Anand Gandhi served as the creative director, and Adesh Prasad served as the co-director.
