Thalia Assuras
__NOTOC__ Thalia Assuras is a Canadian television journalist and media consultant. Early years Assuras was born in London, Ontario to parents who immigrated from Tripoli, Greece, after World War II. She attended London Central Secondary School, and remained in London to attend the University of Western Ontario, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. She graduated in 1980, then entered the graduate program in journalism and earned her master's degree in 1981. Twenty-one years later she commented on the impact the journalism program had had on her: :"It's hard to describe my time at Western because it was a phenomenal turning point in my life. I always had these delusions of being a writer and I always overloaded my mind with information and literature. That program just brought things together for me." London (pronounced ) is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 422,324 according to the 2021 Canadian census. ''The Early Show'' is an American morning television show that aired on CBS from November 1, 1999 to January 7, 2012, and the ninth attempt at a morning news-talk program by the network since 1954. The program aired Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. (live in the Eastern Time Zone, and on tape delay in all other time zones), although a number of affiliates either pre-empted or tape-delayed the Saturday edition. The ''CBS Morning News'' is an American early-morning news broadcast presented weekdays on the CBS television network. The program features late-breaking news stories, national weather forecasts and sports highlights. Discovery People
Discovery People was an American cable television network. The channel was launched on March 31, 1997 by CBS as CBS Eye on People, and featured news and human interest stories from CBS News. The channel suffered significant losses, in part because few cable providers were willing to carry it. By the end of its first year on the air, it was only available in 11 million homes, less than half of what most cable channels need to turn a profit. In mid-1998, it was announced that Discovery Communications would buy 50 percent of the channel and take operational control. It dropped "CBS" from its title to become simply Eye on People. On January 11, 1999, Discovery bought the network from CBS Corporation and renamed it Discovery People. Discovery continued to license programming from CBS, combining it with some of its own programming. Mark Edward Mullen (born 1961) is a television journalist and the anchorman for NBC affiliate KNSD-TV in San Diego. He joined the station in June, 2010 from ABC News, where he served as a Los Angeles-based correspondent. Prior to ABC, he was Chief Asia Correspondent for NBC News, regularly reporting news on notable Chinese and East Asian current events and contributing in-depth stories about China's changing culture, economy and political system.
