Thaajuddeen School
Thaajuddeen School is one of the oldest schools in Malé, Maldives. It was officially inaugurated by former president, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom on 7 February 1989. The school has received many awards in various competitions since its inception. History It opened as Thaajuddeen Primary School, before it was changed in 1990 to its current name. The school was named after the famous Maldivian historian, Hassan Thaajuddeen. The school first started with 19 teachers, 435 students and 29 classrooms, with 2 sessions. The school currently teaches grades 1-10 to 1492 students with 118 teachers and 33 classrooms. The school was reconstructed and reopened on 7 June 2004, with the new building being granted aid by the people and the Government of Japan as a token of friendship in the bilateral relations between the two countries. Malé is the capital and most populous city of the Maldives. With a population of 211,908 in 2022 within its administrative area and coterminous geographical area of , Malé is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city is geographically located in the southern edge of North Malé Atoll ( Kaafu Atoll). Administratively, the city consists of a central island, an airport island, and five other islands presided over by the Malé City Council. Rashida Yoosuf
Rashida Yoosuf () is a Maldivian politician and diplomat. Early life and education Yoosuf moved to Malé when she was 6 years old and studied in Madhrasathul Saniyya, till grade 10. She got a government scholarship to study in India for teacher training. She received an opportunity to go to the Philippines for a teacher education course. She also got an opportunity to do a school management course in Australia, as well as to do her master's degree at University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, where she completed the latter in 1988. Raajje TV
Raajje TV is a television channel based in the Maldives, known for its news coverage, entertainment programs, and cultural content. The channel started broadcasting on 5 June 2008 as Future TV, adopting its current name in 2011. ADK Hospital
ADK Hospital () is the first and the largest private tertiary care hospital in Maldives. The hospital is one of the two major private hospitals located in Greater Malé region. The acronym ‘ADK’ is derived from the name late Abdul Rahman Dhon Kaleyfaanu, who is the father of Ahmed Nashid, one of the founding members of ADK Group. Dharumavantha School
Dharumavantha School () is a public and coeducational school in Malé, Maldives. The school is named in remembrance of Dharumavantha Rasgefaanu who converted the people of Maldives to Islam in 1553 A.D. The school was established in January 2002 with the split of the Majeedhiya School campus into two separate single gender schools, the newly formed school being Dharumavantha. The Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH, ) is a state-owned Multi-Speciality hospital, and one of four hospitals in Malé, Republic of Maldives. The hospital is located at the west end of Malé. Kaafu Atoll is the code name given to an administrative division in the Republic of Maldives which consists of the geographical atolls of Kaashidhoo Island, Gaafaru, North Malé Atoll and South Malé Atoll. As the two Malé Atolls are the main islands of the administrative district, the entire Kaafu Atoll administrative division is officially named Malé Atoll or Malé Atolhu in the Dhivehi language. COVID-19 Pandemic In Maldives
The COVID-19 pandemic in Maldives was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). The virus was confirmed to have spread to Maldives on 7 March 2020 from a 69-year-old Italian tourist who had returned to Italy after spending holidays in Kuredu Resort & Spa.
