Teye (pronounced tie-ya, born 1957 as Teije Wijnterp) is a Frisian (now American) guitarist, best known for his flamenco guitar work with the Joe Ely band between 1994 and 2000. Before ending his musical career, Teije began building exclusive handmade guitars. Biography Teye started learning guitar in 1968, and moved to London to pursue a musical career, unsuccessfully. He returned to the Netherlands and played in a number of rock and roll bands, after which he studied classical guitar at the conservatory in Groningen (city), Groningen. Starting in the early 1980s, he began learning to play flamenco music in Andalusia, and spent the next six years alternately studying in Spain, and studying and performing in the Netherlands and the United States. Joe Ely (; born February 9, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was "one of the main movers" of Austin, Texas' progressive country scene in the 1970s and '80s. He has had a genre-crossing career, performing with Bruce Springsteen, Uncle Tupelo, Los Super Seven, The Chieftains, James McMurtry,The Clash, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, and Guy Clark. The Steepwater Band is an American rock band formed in Chicago in 1998 by the trio of Jeff Massey (guitars and vocals), Joe Winters (drums), and Tod Bowers (bass). The band took their name from a cargo vessel that Massey sighted in a port on Lake Michigan. Wild Romance, also known as The Wild Romance, but best known as Herman Brood & His Wild Romance was the backing band of Dutch singer-pianist Herman Brood. While labeled as a new wave band, the director of Wild Romance's record label, Ariola, disputed this categorization when first promoting the band to the American audience in 1979, saying it came about "because he roods a European artist".
