Loop 121 is a partial beltway around the city of Belton, Texas, Belton in the U.S. state of Texas. Route description Loop 121 begins at an intersection with Farm to Market Road 439, FM 439 near Belton Lake. The highway travels through more rural areas of the city, running near the western edge of Belton and passes just east of the campus of University of Mary Hardin Baylor. Belton Lake
Belton Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Leon River in the Brazos River basin, 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Belton, Texas, United States. The lake extends into both Bell County and Coryell County. Belton Dam and the lake are both managed by the Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The reservoir was officially impounded in 1954, and serves to provide flood control and drinking water for Belton, Temple, and the surrounding communities. Belton Lake is a popular recreational destination. Belton Lake overflowed the spillway in 1991–1992 with the occurrence of two closely spaced 50 year floods. Interstate 35 (I-35) is a major north–south Interstate Highway that runs from Laredo, Texas near the Mexican border to Duluth, Minnesota. In Texas, the highway begins in Laredo and runs north to the Red River north of Gainesville, where it crosses into Oklahoma. Along its route, it passes through the cities of San Antonio, Austin, and Waco before splitting into two branch routes just north of Hillsboro: I-35E heads northeast through Dallas, while I-35W turns northwest to run through Fort Worth. The Cadence Bank Center is a 6,559-seat multi-purpose arena, in Belton, Texas. It was formerly the home of the Texas Bullets ( PIFL), the CenTex Barracudas ( IFL), the Central Texas Stampede ( WPHL) and the Central Texas Blackhawks (and later Central Texas Marshalls).
