Tetulia Upazila
Tetulia (), historically spelt as Tentulia, is the northernmost region of Bangladesh, constituting an upazila in Panchagarh District of Rangpur Division. Tetulia is geographically the northernmost tip of Bangladesh. Tetulia is notable for its tea. Tetulia is also notable for views of Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world, from its plains, rivers and tea gardens. Etymology ''Tentula'' is the Bengali word for tamarind. Demographics According to the 2011 Census of Bangladesh, Tetulia Upazila had 27,908 households and a population of 125,454. 30,869 (24.61%) were under 10 years of age. Tetulia had a literacy rate (age 7 and over) of 47.32%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 977 females per 1000 males. 5,506 (4.39%) lived in urban areas. Teknaf
Teknaf () is a municipality of Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar District in south-eastern Bangladesh. It forms the southernmost point in mainland Bangladesh ( St. Martin's Island is the southernmost point). The name of the region comes from the Naf River which forms the eastern boundary of the upazila and is the boundary between Bangladesh and Myanmar. Teknaf port is used to trade with Myanmar. Saidpur Airport () is a domestic airport located in Saidpur, Nilphamari District, Rangpur Division, Bangladesh. The airport is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh. Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Novoair, Air Astra and US-Bangla Airlines operate flights to Dhaka, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar. Saidpur is a city of Nilphamari district in Rangpur division, and Saidpur Airport is one of the northernmost airports in the country. Union council (), also known as union parishad, rural council, rural union and simply union, is the smallest rural administrative and local government unit in Bangladesh, with zila parishads (district councils) being the largest rural authorities and upazila parishads (sub-district council) being the intermediate level. These wards serve the purpose of electing members for general seats, with three additional seats reserved for women, all of which are directly elected. 1991 Bangladesh Census
In 1991, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, conducted a national census in Bangladesh. They recorded data from all of the districts and upazilas and main cities in Bangladesh including statistical data on population size, households, sex and age distribution, marital status, economically active population, literacy and educational attainment, religion, number of children etc. According to the census, Hindus were 10.5 per cent of the population, down from 12.1 per cent as of 1981. Bangladesh have a population of 106,314,992 as per the 1991 national census report. As many as 93,886,769 reported that they were Muslims, 11,184,337 reported as Hindus, 616,626 as Buddhists, 350,839 as Christians and 276,418 as others.
