Tetkino
Tyotkino () is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) on the left bank of the Seym river in Glushkovsky District of Kursk Oblast, Russia. Population: Geography It is on a small salient of Russian territory, with the Russia–Ukraine border running on the north-west, south-west and south-east of the settlement. To the south is Sumy Raion and to the north-west is Konotop Raion, both in the Sumy Oblast of Ukraine. History The year Tyotkino was founded is considered to be 1650. Russian Volunteer Corps
The Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC; ) is a far-right paramilitary unit of Russia, Russian citizens, based in Ukraine. It was formed in August 2022, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, to fight against the Russia under Vladimir Putin, government of Vladimir Putin. The group reportedly consists of Russian emigrants who are primarily united by their opposition to Putin. According to Ukrainian military officials, the group is not a part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Assessments of the ideology of this group vary from white nationalist to neo-Nazi. The RVC stated that they maintain Right-wing politics, right-wing conservatism, conservative views and reject extremist labels. Sibir Battalion
The Sibir Battalion (; ) is a paramilitary group made up of Russian citizens opposed to the Russia under Vladimir Putin, Putin regime. Members of this unit include Russians, Yakuts, and Buryats, who see Ukraine's victory as an opportunity to gain independence or wide autonomy from Russia. Before signing a contract, citizens of the Russian Federation undergo a thorough inspection, which can last up to a year. The battalion does not recruit captured Russian soldiers. The unit fought in the Battle of Avdiivka (2022–present), Battle of Avdiivka. March 2024 Western Russia Incursion
On 12 March 2024, during the Russo-Ukrainian War, Ukrainian-backed armed groups launched a cross-border incursion from Ukraine into Russia. They entered Belgorod and Kursk Oblasts and clashed with the Russian military. At least three groups took part: the Freedom of Russia Legion, Russian Volunteer Corps and Sibir Battalion. They claimed control of at least four settlements in Russia, and many other border settlements remained under contested control. The Russian defense ministry denied this, repeatedly claiming it had beaten back the attackers and forced them to retreat, despite continued fighting.
