Teshel Reservoir
Teshel () is a small reservoir situated in the Western Rhodope Mountains of southern Bulgaria. Its lies in Borino Municipality in the western part of Smolyan Province, between the lands of the villages of Borino and Yagodina. It is part of the Dospat–Vacha Hydropower Cascade (500.2 MW) and is owned by the National Electric Company (NEK). The reservoir is located downstream of the Buynovo Gorge on the river Vacha at the village of Teshel. It was inaugurated in 1984 and serves as a daily equalizer of the nearby Teshel Hydro Power Plant (60 MW). Its dam forms a lake with an area of 0.1 km2 and a volume of 1.4 million m3. The dam reaches a height of 30 m and a length of 200 m. It was constructed over a complex geological foundation, which necessitated numerous changes in the project, including during construction. The spillway has a capacity of 354 m3/s and carries the water through a 400 m long tunnel. The main volume of the reservoir's ...

Rhodope Mountains
The Rhodopes (; bg, Родопи, ; el, Ροδόπη, ''Rodopi''; tr, Rodoplar) are a mountain range in Southeastern Europe, and the largest by area in Bulgaria, with over 83% of its area in the southern part of the country and the remainder in Greece. Golyam Perelik is its highest peak at . The mountain range gives its name to the terrestrial ecoregion Rodope montane mixed forests that belongs in the temperate broadleaf and mixed forests biome and the Palearctic realm. The region is particularly notable for its karst areas with their deep river gorges, large caves and specific sculptured forms, such as the Trigrad Gorge. A significant part of Bulgaria's hydropower resources are located in the western areas of the range. There are a number of hydro-cascades and dams used for electricity production, irrigation, and as tourist destinations. In Greece, there are also the hydroelectric power plants of Thisavros and Platanovrysi. The Rhodopes have a rich cultural heritage includ ...

Grass Carp
The grass carp (''Ctenopharyngodon idella'') is a species of large herbivorous freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae, native to the Pacific Far East, with a native range stretching from northern Vietnam to the Amur River on the Sino-Russian border.Mandrak and Cudmore. 2004''Biological Synopsis of Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella)''. This Asian carp is the only species of the genus ''Ctenopharyngodon''. Grass carp are resident fish of large turbid rivers and associated floodplain lakes/wetlands with a wide range of temperature tolerance, and spawn at temperatures of . It is cultivated as a food fish in China for centuries, but was introduced in Europe and the United States for aquatic weed control, becoming the fish species with the largest reported farmed production globally, over five million tonnes per year.

Eurasian Carp
The Eurasian carp or European carp (''Cyprinus carpio''), widely known as the common carp, is a widespread freshwater fish of eutrophic waters in lakes and large rivers in Europe and Asia.Fishbase''Cyprinus carpio'' Linnaeus, 1758/ref>Arkive The native wild populations are considered vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), but the species has also been domesticated and introduced (see aquaculture) into environments worldwide, and is often considered a destructive invasive species, being included in the list of the world's 100 worst invasive species. It gives its name to the carp family, Cyprinidae. Taxonomy The two subspecies are: * ''Cyprinus carpio carpio'', native to much of Europe (notably the Danube and Volga rivers)Jian Feng Zhou, Qing Jiang Wu, Yu Zhen Ye & Jin Gou Tong (2003).
