Fort Terán (sometimes Teran or Fort Turan) was a former Mexico, Mexican military base, military post and Texian settlement located in Tyler County, Texas, Tyler County in East Texas. The post was named after Mexican general Manuel Mier y Terán. Fort Terán was located at the wikt:head of navigation, head of navigation on the Neches River. Héctor Téran Terán (April 3, 1931 – October 4, 1998) was a Mexican politician, member of the National Action Party (PAN), and governor of the state of Baja California. Héctor Terán Terán received his degree in Large Business Administration from the Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS), and was made leader of his party in the state of Baja California. Manuel Esteban Paez Terán, also known as Tortuguita, was a Venezuelan environmental activist and eco-anarchist who was shot and killed by Georgia State Patrol Troopers, after a Georgia State Patrol Trooper was wounded during a raid of the Stop Cop City encampment on January 18, 2023. Bodycam footage from the incident, after the shooting, includes video recordings of police from the scene speculating that the officer's gunshot injury was the result of friendly fire. Autopsy results showed Paez Terán sustained 57 gunshot wounds, and found no visible gunpowder residue on their hands. However, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) report found traces of gunshot primer that could be present from Paez Terán shooting a weapon, police gunshots, or contamination. Mario Terán
Mario Terán Salazar (9 April 1942 – 10 March 2022) was a Bolivian Army warrant officer who executed Che Guevara as a young sergeant in 1967. Guevara, a Marxist revolutionary from Argentina, had played a major role in the Cuban Revolution, in which the 26th of July Movement, led by Fidel Castro, ousted U.S.-backed dictator Fulgencio Batista and replaced his government with a revolutionary socialist state. Early life Terán was born to Vicente Terán and Candelaria Salazar on 9 April 1942 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. His father, a merchant, was 46 years old when he was born; his mother was 45. Teodelinda Terán Hicks (March 1, 1889 – June 11, 1959) was an Ecuadorian cellist. Los Alegres de Terán were a Mexican Norteño band. They were formed in Nuevo León when Eugenio Abrego and Tomas Ortiz met in a club in the mid-1940s focusing their activities around the area of Monterrey, Reynosa, and finally settling in McAllen, Texas. - Limited access Beginning with their first record in 1948, "Corrido de Pepito", Los Alegres de Terán were pioneers of norteño style duets singing corridos, rancheras and norteño songs.
