Teruyoshi Uchimura
, half of the Japanese Owarai, comedy duo Utchan Nanchan, is one of the most famous and influential comedians in the owarai community. His nickname is ''Utchan'' ("Wutchan"), and his partner, Kiyotaka Nanbara, is known as ''Nanchan''. He was born on July 22, 1964 in Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto. Though he has worked for years as a comedian, he has also shown talent as an actor and dramatic performer. He is well known as the leader of the ''owarai'' band NO PLAN. History Uchimura met Nanbara while attending the Yokohama Broadcasting Technical School, along with Tetsurō Degawa and Masato Irie, who were also classmates. The two decided to start a manzai duo, and they were called ''Utchan Nanchan'' by their teacher, Keiko Utsumi. They first appeared on the show ''Owarai sutaa tanjō!!'' Uchimura Produce
, produced by Teruyoshi Uchimura, is a Japanese TV comedy program that aired from 2000 to 2005 on TV Asahi. Summary The program that Teruyoshi Uchimura produces shows things with an original technique and concept every week. There were only two regular performers: Uchimura and Ryō Fukawa at first. Later, a lot of young comedians appeared on the show, and Masakazu Mimura (Summers) became a regular. This program was the stepping stone for the band consisting of Uchimura, Summers, TIM, and Ryō Fukawa, called NO PLAN. They released a single/DVD. NO PLAN had a live broadcast from Nakano Sunplaza in May 2004 and became successful. This TV program was popular mainly with young men but finished regular broadcastings on September 26, 2005 as a result of TV Asahi reorganizing its late-night programs. Saiyūki (TV Series)
is a 2006 Japanese historical TV drama based on the 16th-century Chinese novel ''Journey to the West''. It is a successor to the popular 1970s TV show ''Saiyūki'', known outside Japan as ''Monkey''. There have been three dramas and one special based on ''Journey to the West'' that have aired previously, making this one the fifth adaptation in Japan. Fuji TV made an unusual decision to air this on 9pm every Monday, a primetime slot usually reserved for romantic dramas, hoping to capture both the young and the old by making this choice. While the series started off with viewership nearly reaching 30%, its rating gradually sank, barely making it at 20% at one point; the last episode finished off with 24.7%. Zebraman
