A wing and fullback, Wright represented Auckland at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, from 1986 to 1992. Early years Wright attended White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Wright became a top 25 player in the state of Tennessee.
