Terry Robb
Terry Robb (born August 14, 1956) is a Canadian fingerstyle guitarist, composer, arranger and record producer living in the United States. He plays electric and acoustic guitar, and is associated with the American Primitive Guitar genre through his collaboration with steel string guitarist John Fahey. He is a member of the Oregon Music Hall of Fame and Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame, and was honored with the eponymous "Terry Robb" Muddy Award for Best Acoustic Guitar in 2011. His original compositions draw on the Delta blues, ragtime, folk music, country music and jazz traditions. Oregon Music Hall Of Fame
The Oregon Music Hall of Fame is an award honoring musicians from the U.S. state of Oregon. The first induction ceremony took place on October 13, 2007. History The Oregon Music Hall of Fame was conceived of in the 1990s by a group called the Oregon Music Coalition. Over the years they elected 50 Oregon musicians and bands to the hall of fame. The group eventually disbanded, but in 2004, the hall of fame was revitalized and a group reformed as the Oregon Music Hall of Fame non-profit organization. The original inductees will continue to be honored, while new nominees will include musicians, producers, disc jockeys, and promoters. American Folk Music Revival
The American folk music revival began during the 1940s and peaked in popularity in the mid-1960s. Early folk music performers include Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, Pete Seeger, Ewan MacColl (UK), Richard Dyer-Bennet, Oscar Brand, Jean Ritchie, John Jacob Niles, Susan Reed, Mississippi John Hurt, Josh White, and Cisco Houston. Lawrence Welk
Lawrence Welk (March 11, 1903 – May 17, 1992) was an American accordionist, bandleader, and television impresario, who hosted ''The Lawrence Welk Show'' from 1951 to 1982. The program was known for its light and family-friendly style, and the easy listening music featured became known as "champagne music" to his radio, television, and live-performance audiences. Welk, a native of North Dakota who was born to Black Sea Germans, German immigrants from Russia, began his career as a bandleader in the 1920s in the Great Plains.
