Terrie Miller
Terrie Norlene Miller (born 10 March 1978) is an American-born Norwegian swimmer. She competed at the European Short Course Swimming Championships 1996, where she won a gold medal in 100 m breaststroke, and a silver medal in 50 m breaststroke. She also won a bronze medal in 50 m breaststroke at the 1994 European Sprint Swimming Championships in Stavanger. She was coached by Sondre Solberg since 1992. She participated at the 1996 Summer Olympics, where she finished 20th in 100 m breaststroke. In 1997 she accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she competed for the Nebraska Cornhuskers swimming and diving team under head coach Cal Bentz, and coaches Jan Bidrman and Paul Nelsen. The 1996 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the XXVI Olympiad, also known as Atlanta 1996 and commonly referred to as the Centennial Olympic Games) were an international multi-sport event held from July 19 to August 4, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Valērijs Kalmikovs
Valērijs "Val" Kalmikovs (born March 4, 1973) is a Latvian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. He is a two-time Olympian (1996 and 2000) and a top 16 finalist in the 200 m breaststroke on his Olympic debut in Atlanta (1996). He still holds a Latvian record in the 200 m breaststroke (2:16.21) that stood for more than a decade. While studying in the United States, Kalmikovs achieved a sixth-fastest of all time in the 200-yard breaststroke at the 2000 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. He has also been named a three-time Big-12 Conference Champion and a nine-time All-American, as a member of the University of Nebraska swimming and diving team. Melanie Dodd (born 10 May 1973) is an Australian former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle events. She represented the host nation Australia, as a 27-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and also trained for the Australian Institute of Sport, under Russian-based swim coach Gennadi Touretski. She won two medals, a silver and bronze, in the 4×100-metre freestyle relay at the 1995 FINA Short Course World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, and 1999 FINA Short Course World Championships in Hong Kong. Lenka Kripac (born 19 March 1978) is an Australian singer-songwriter and actress best known for her song "The Show", from her debut album, ''Lenka''. Anna Windsor
Anna Margaret Windsor (born 17 May 1976) is an Australian former competitive swimmer who won four medals in freestyle relays at the world championships in 1993, 1995 and 1998. She also competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics and finished sixth in the 4×100-metre freestyle relay in 1996. She was born in Sydney, but her family moved to Orange, New South Wales when she was eight months old. After the 2000 Olympics, she retired from swimming to focus on her studies. Emma Johnson (swimmer)
Emma Clare Johnson (born 24 February 1980) is an Australian freestyle and medley swimmer of the 1990s, who won a bronze medal in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of just 16 (whilst attending the Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney as a boarder). She combined with Susie O'Neill, Julia Greville and Nicole Stevenson to register a bronze medal in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay, trailing the American and German teams home. Mikaela Laurén (born 20 January 1976) is a Swedish professional boxer and former national team swimmer. In boxing she held the WBC female light middleweight title from 2014 to 2016, and has challenged once for the undisputed female welterweight championship in 2017. Karina Helene Muller (also ''Helene Muller''; born 25 April 1978) is a South African former swimmer, who specialised in sprint and middle-distance freestyle events. She represented South Africa in two editions of the Olympic Games (1996 and 2000), and later captured two silver medals each in sprint freestyle and medley relay at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. While studying in the United States, Muller swam for the Nebraska Cornhuskers swimming and diving team, under head coach Cal Bentz, and Sprint coach Keith Moore, at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. Malin Therese Alshammar (born 26 August 1977) is a Swedish swimmer who has won three Olympic medals, 25 World Championship medals, and 43 European Championship medals. Penny Heyns
Penelope ("Penny") Heyns OIS (born 8 November 1974) is a South African former swimmer, who is best known for being the only woman in the history of the Olympic Games to have won both the 100 m and 200 m breaststroke events – at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games – making her South Africa's first post-apartheid Olympic gold medallist following South Africa's re-admission to the Games in 1992. Jan Bidrman
Jan Bidrman (born 2 April 1966 in Rakovník, Czechoslovakia) is the head coach of the Calgary Academy of Swimming Excellence and the high performance coach of Swim Alberta. Formerly a decorated international athlete in Sweden, Bidrman was selected to the Swedish National Swim Team for both the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea and the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Swimming career Bidrman was a member of the Czechoslovak national team from 1980 to 1985, until his arrival in Sweden where he competed for the Malmö KK swim club.
