Terje Formoe
Terje Falk Formoe (born 6 December 1949) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, actor, playwright and author. Background Born in Fredrikstad, Norway, he was educated as a schoolteacher. In the 1970s, he began making records of his music. He currently lives in Kristiansand. He was the marketing and entertainment chief at Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park in the early 1980s. He became known for his song about the ape Julius (chimpanzee), Julius, which appeared on his album of 1983. In the 1990s, he became well known for his plays about the pirate Captain Sabertooth, in which he also played the title role for several years. He is the father of Janne Formoe, an actress and TV personality. Fredrikstad
Fredrikstad (; previously ''Frederiksstad''; literally "Fredrik's Town") is a List of cities in Norway, city and Municipalities of Norway, municipality in Østfold Counties of Norway, county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Fredrikstad. The city of Fredrikstad was founded in 1567 by Frederick II of Denmark, King Frederick II, and established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see ''formannskapsdistrikt''). The rural municipality of Glemmen was merged with Fredrikstad on 1 January 1964. The rural municipalities of Borge, Østfold, Borge, Onsøy, Kråkerøy, and Rolvsøy were merged with Fredrikstad on 1 January 1994. The city straddles the river Glomma where it meets the Skagerrak, about from the Sweden border. Captain Sabertooth
Captain Sabertooth (in Norwegian: Kaptein Sabeltann) is a long running series that centers on the eponymous pirate Captain Sabertooth, who was created and was originally portrayed by the Norwegian singer, composer, author and actor Terje Formoe. The series comprises several stage plays, theatrical films, a television series, cartoons, and books, all of which are aimed at small children. The series was first launched as a series of stage plays. The first play, ''Captain Sabertooth and the Treasure in Luna Bay'', was first performed in Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park in Norway where Formoe was Director of Entertainment. The play's success was so great that in 1994 it was followed up with another stage play, ''Captain Sabertooth and the Secret of Luna Bay'', the music of which won Formoe a Spellemann prize, the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy Awards.
