Teresa Lebel
Dr Teresa Lebel is a taxonomist and ecologist who works on fungi, with a particular interest in subterranean truffle-like fungi and their mushroom, bolete, bracket or cup relatives. Career Lebel studied at the University of Western Australia (undergraduate and Honours 1989), then Oregon State University (PhD) before taking up a position at the National Herbarium of Victoria as a Mycology, mycologist (1999-2019), and Editor of Muelleria (journal), Muelleria. During this time, Lebel undertook a two-year sabbatical on the Ross Beever Memorial Fellowship at Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research, Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research (2012-2014). Lebel is currently (2020-) Senior Botanist and Curator Cryptogams at the State Herbarium of South Australia. The National Herbarium of Victoria holds over 1200 specimens collected by Lebel, the majority truffle-like fungi. Mycology is the branch of biology concerned with the study of fungus, fungi, including their Taxonomy (biology), taxonomy, genetics, biochemistry, biochemical properties, and ethnomycology, use by humans. Tasmanian Herbarium
The Tasmanian Herbarium is a herbarium in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Its Index Herbariorum code is HO. It is a part of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. The earliest plant samples in the herbarium's collection date from early European exploration of Tasmania. These include specimens collected in the 1792 voyage to the island of Bruny d'Entrecasteaux and those collected by Robert Brown in the first decade of the 19th Century. ''Thaxterogaster cinereoroseolus'' is a species of truffle-like fungus in the family Cortinariaceae. Found in New South Wales, Australia, the species was described as new to science in 2010. Taxonomy The species was first described scientifically by Melissa Danks, Teresa Lebel, and Karl Vernes in a 2010 issue of the journal ''Persoonia''. The type collection was made in Mount Kaputar, New South Wales (Australia) in July 2007. Molecular analysis of internal transcribed spacer DNA sequences indicates that ''Cortinarius cinereoroseolus'' groups together in a subclade with two undescribed sequestrate ''Cortinarius'' species, and that this subclade is sister to a clade containing the agaric species '' C. australis'', '' C. chalybaeus'', '' C. porphyropus'', '' C. purpurascens'' and '' C. purpurascens'' var. The Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) is a heritage-listed botanical garden located in , Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
