Terence Feely
Terence John Feely (20 July 1928 – 13 August 2000) was a British screenwriter, playwright and author. His work spanned five decades and included creating the ITV police drama series ''The Gentle Touch'' (1980–84) and its spin-off '' C.A.T.S. Eyes'' (1985–87). His theater play script titled “Who Killed Santa Claus” was published by French in 1971. Life and career Feely was born into a middle-class Roman Catholic family of Irish descent in Liverpool. After leaving school, he entered Liverpool's Jesuit College where he studied English and psychology. Upon completion of his university studies, he decided to go into journalism, and got a job with a small local newspaper in Middlesbrough. However, he quickly outgrew the publication, and moved to London where he secured a position in the faster-paced world of Fleet Street, joining the editorial staff of the '' Sunday Graphic''. Lindsay Anderson
Lindsay Gordon Anderson (17 April 1923 – 30 August 1994) was a British feature-film, theatre and documentary director, film critic, and leading light of the Free Cinema movement and of the British New Wave. He is most widely remembered for his 1968 film '' if....'', which won the ''Palme d'Or'' at Cannes Film Festival in 1969 and marked Malcolm McDowell's cinematic debut. He is also notable, though not a professional actor, for playing a minor role in the Academy Award-winning 1981 film ''Chariots of Fire''. McDowell produced a 2007 documentary about his experiences with Anderson, '' Never Apologize''. Shoestring (TV Series)
''Shoestring'' is a British detective fiction drama series, set in an unnamed city in the West of England and filmed in Bristol, featuring the down-at-heel private detective Eddie Shoestring ( Trevor Eve), who presents his own show on Radio West, a local radio station. Broadcast on BBC1, the programme lasted for two series, between 30 September 1979 and 21 December 1980, featuring a total of 21 episodes. After the second series was broadcast Eve decided not to return to the role, as he "wanted to diversify into theatre roles". Subsequently, the production team began taking popular elements of the series and revising them for a new series, '' Bergerac'', set in Jersey and first shown in 1981. Henry James ( – ) was an American-British author. He is regarded as a key transitional figure between literary realism and literary modernism, and is considered by many to be among the greatest novelists in the English language. He was the son of Henry James Sr. and the brother of Philosophy, philosopher and psychologist William James and diarist Alice James. ''The New Avengers'' is a secret agent action television series produced during 1976 and 1977. It is a sequel to the 1960s series '' The Avengers'' and was developed by original series producers Albert Fennell and Brian Clemens. The series was produced by The Avengers (Film and TV) Enterprises Ltd for the ITV network, cost £125,000 per episode to produce at Pinewood Studios, and was seen in 120 countries. ''Within These Walls'' is a British television drama programme made by London Weekend Television for ITV and shown between 1974 and 1978. It portrayed life in HMP Stone Park, a fictional women's prison. Unlike later women-in-prison TV series, '' Bad Girls'' (ITV, 1999–2006), and Australian series, ''Prisoner'' (aka ''Prisoner: Cell Block H'', Grundy Organisation, original run: 1979–1986), and '' Wentworth'' (2013–2021), ''Within These Walls'' tended to centre its story-lines around the prison staff rather than the inmates. The lead character was played by British film actor Googie Withers who played the well-groomed, genteel governor Faye Boswell and episodes revolved around her attempts to liberalise the prison regime while managing her personal life at home.
