Terceiro Comando Puro
Terceiro Comando Puro (Pure Third Command) is a Brazilian criminal organization in Rio de Janeiro that split off from the Terceiro Comando (TC) in 2002 due to disputes about TC's affiliations with the ''Amigos dos Amigos'' gang. TC weakened while TCP strengthened and eventually absorbed its parent group's members. TCP is primarily involved with drug trafficking. The faction continues to operate against the Comando Vermelho in regions outside Rio de Janeiro, including the Brazilian states of Amazonas (Brazilian state), Amazonas, Ceará, and Bahia, and in Vitória, Espírito Santo. Leadership As of 2024, there are currently 5 major leaders, 2 of which are currently incarcerated. Maré, Rio De Janeiro
Maré is a neighborhood and ''favela'' (low-income informal neighborhood) in the Rio de Janeiro#North Zone, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is a grouping of several favelas, suburbs with houses, and housing complexes. Favela
Favela () is an umbrella name for several types of impoverished neighborhoods in Brazil. The term, which means slum or ghetto, was first used in the Slum of Providência in the center of Rio de Janeiro in the late 19th century, which was built by soldiers who had lived under the favela trees in Bahia and had nowhere to live following the Canudos War. Some of the last settlements were called ''bairros africanos'' (African neighborhoods). Over the years, many former enslaved Africans moved in.
