Teodoras Četrauskas
Teodoras Četrauskas (7 May 1944 – 23 December 2024) was a Lithuanian writer and literary translator. He translated more than one hundred and forty books from German into Lithuanian,Violeta ŠoblinskaitėHoles in Knowledge ''The Vilnius Review'' 25 (spring/summer 2009), pp.71–73 including the writing of Günter Grass, Thomas Bernhard, Franz Kafka, Elias Canetti, Siegfried Lenz, Alfred Döblin and Michael Ende. Vilnius University ( Lithuanian: ''Vilniaus universitetas'') is a public research university, which is the first and largest university in Lithuania, as well as one of the oldest and most prominent higher education institutions in Central and Eastern Europe. Širvintos District Municipality () is a municipalities of Lithuania, municipality in Lithuania, it is in territory of Vilnius County and its capital is Širvintos. Michael Andreas Helmuth Ende (12 November 1929 – 28 August 1995) was a German writer of fantasy and children's fiction. He is known for his epic fantasy '' The Neverending Story'' (with its 1980s film adaptation and a 1995 animated television adaptation); other well-known works include '' Momo'' and '' Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver''. Siegfried Lenz
Siegfried Lenz (; 17 March 19267 October 2014) was a German writer of novels, short stories and essays, as well as dramas for radio and the theatre. In 2000 he received the Goethe Prize on the 250th Anniversary of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's birth. He won the 2010 International Nonino Prize in Italy. Life Siegfried Lenz was born in Lyck, East Prussia (now Ełk, Poland), the son of a customs officer. After graduating in 1943 he was drafted into the ''Kriegsmarine''. According to documents released in June 2007, he joined the Nazi Party at the age of 18 on 20 April 1944 along with several other German authors and personalities such as Dieter Hildebrandt and Martin Walser.
