Teodor Regedziński
Teodor (Theodor, Theodore) Regedziński (Regedzinski, Reger) (28 April 1894 – 2 August 1954) was a Polish chess master of German origin. Biography Born Poland (near Łódź), Regedziński was of German origin as his father, named Reger. He had lived in Łódź since 1908, enrolling in the Łódź Association of Devotees of the Game of Chess. In 1912, he took 2nd, behind Gersz Salwe, in an unofficial city championship. During World War I, he was temporarily detained by the Austrians but was released in 1916. In 1917 he took 3rd in the club championship. In 1918 and 1919 he finished first. He participated in all four pre-war editions of the Polish Chess Championship. In 1926, he tied for 3rd-7th, behind Dawid Przepiórka, and Paulin Frydman, at Warsaw (1st POL–ch). Theodor Leschetizky (sometimes spelled Leschetitzky; ; 22 June 1830 – 14 November 1915) was a Polish pianist, professor, and composer active in Austria-Hungary. He was born in Landshut in the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, then a crown land of the Habsburg domain. A well-regarded teacher, his many students included Ignaz Friedman, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, and Artur Schnabel. Teodor Peterek (nicknames: ''Mietlorz'' and ''Teo''; 7 November 1910 – 12 January 1969), was a Polish footballer who played as a forward. Life and career Peterek's career started in Śląsk Świętochłowice in 1925. Two years later, he moved to Ruch Chorzów for whom he debuted at a very early age. "Teo" was not even 18 years old, when he played in a 1928 game against ŁKS Łódź. The young forward's first game for Chorzów's side was very successful - he scored a goal. He stayed in Ruch for 11 years, and won five league titles with the Silesian club. In the 1937–38 season, he scored in 16 consecutive league matches, which remained as a world record until broken by Messi in 2013. He is especially renowned for works related to the early medieval Middle East, the late Roman and the Byzantine Empires. Life Teodor Parnicki was born March 5, 1908, to a Polish father and a Polish Jewish mother, in Berlin, where his father, Bronisław Parnicki, had been studying at the Technische Hochschule in Charlottenburg (now Technische Universität Berlin). Upon receiving a doctorate, the family moved to Moscow, where Parnicki's father worked for various Russian companies. After the outbreak of World War I, the Parnicki family - officially citizens of Germany - had to abandon Moscow and move to Ufa, where Parnicki's mother died soon afterwards. Teodor Gheorghe Negoiță (September 27, 1947March 23, 2011) was a polar region explorer. In 1995 he became the first known Romanian explorer to reach the North Pole. Biography Negoiță was born on September 27, 1947, in the commune of Sascut in Bacău County, Romania. His parents were both teachers, and their home library included many old books on travel. From a young age, he was fascinated by descriptions of expeditions in the most difficult-to-traverse regions of the globe. Teodor Narbutt (; 8 November 1784 – 27 November 1864) was a Polish–Lithuanian romantic historian and military engineer in service of the Russian Empire. He is best remembered as the author of a nine-volume Polish-language history of Lithuania from the early Middle Ages to the Union of Lublin. Life Teodor Narbutt was born in 1784 in the village of Szawry (present-day Voranava District of Belarus) in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, to a notable szlachta family of Trąby coat of arms. Early in his youth his fatherland was partitioned between Russia, Austria and Prussia.
