''Tenzing'' is an upcoming biographical drama film about Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, directed by Jennifer Peedom, written by Luke Davies, and starring Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary and Willem Dafoe as John Hunt. Caitríona Balfe co-stars. In May 2024, Tom Hiddleston was cast as Edmund Hillary and Willem Dafoe as John Hunt, Baron Hunt with Netflix and Higher Ground no longer attached. Jennifer Peedom is an Australian filmmaker, known for her 2015 feature-length documentary film ''Sherpa (film), Sherpa''. She is a BAFTA and EMMY nominated writer, director and producer. Early life and education Jennifer Peedom was born in Canberra, Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Honours) from RMIT University , RMIT in Melbourne in 1997. Career Her documentary ''Solo (2008 film), Solo'' (co-directed with David Michôd) won the 2009 Australian Film Institute Award for 2009 Australian Film Institute Awards#AFI Award for Best Documentary Under One Hour, Best Documentary in Under One Hour. It also won the Film Critics Circle of Australia, Film Critics Circle of Australia Award and the Australian Directors' Guild#ADG Directors_Awards, Australian Directors' Guild award, as well as six major awards at international film festivals.
