Tempo (rapper)
David Sánchez Badillo (born September 25, 1977), known professionally as Tempo, is a Puerto Rican rapper and songwriter.Bonacich, DragoTempo Biography, Allmusic, retrieved December 12, 2010 He was the leading figure in the reggaeton scene from the late 1990s until his arrest in 2002. He was released in 2013 after spending 11 years in prison. Although Tempo had success during the emergence of reggaeton, his popularity faded following his imprisonment; he is nowadays regarded as a controversial figure within the genre. Early life David Sánchez Badillo was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 1977. Tempo studied at Escuela Libre de Música de Ponce. When Tempo was five, his family moved to upstate Haverstraw, New York. Israel Perales Ortiz (September 1, 1972 – July 23, 2015), better known by his stage name Mexicano 777, was a Puerto Rican rapper who gained fame across Latin America, and in the United States. Mexicano 777 was from Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, and was considered to be one of the pioneers of Latin hip hop and reggaeton. Career beginnings His ability to sing was unveiled by parents and siblings when Perales went to take a shower and began to sing. As he came out of the bathroom everyone was waiting in front of the door asking how he had learned the songs he was singing (those of Pedrito Fernández). All this happened when Perales was just six years old. At this young age he was already to duplicate the voice of Fernandez. Pedro Gerardo Torruellas Brito (born 2 November 1964), better known as Playero DJ, DJ Playero, Playe, Play, is a Puerto Rican DJ who was a key figure in the dissemination of reggaeton during its formative period in the 1990s in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Early life Beginning in the early 1990s, he intended to do what DJ Tony Touch was already doing in New York, who was releasing a series of mixtapes, mixing popular and classic songs off most known musical styles like Reggae, Hip Hop and House. Nuyorican is a portmanteau word blending "New York" (or "Nueva York" in Spanish) and "Puerto Rican," referring to Puerto Ricans located in or around New York City, their culture, or their descendants (especially those raised or currently living in the New York metropolitan area). Trebol (foaled 2007) is a Spanish Menorcan Standardbred trotter who was the first Spanish-bred trotter to win an international Grade 1 harness race. Later in his career, he remained on the island of Menorca and raced at its two major tracks. Trebol set a world record of 56 consecutive wins by a Standardbred.
