Tempelfjorden
Tempelfjorden is a fjord branch at the inner end of Sassenfjorden, a part of Isfjorden (Svalbard), Isfjorden at Spitsbergen, Svalbard. It is located between Sabine Land and Bünsow Land. The fjord is named after the mountain Templet (Svalbard), Templet, which resembles a temple. Templet (Svalbard)
Templet is a mountain north of Sassenfjorden, at the south side of Bünsow Land at Spitsbergen, Svalbard. Its height is 766 metre. The name Templet stems from its resemblance to a ruined Gothic cathedral, consisting of eroded horizontal layers of shales, silicates and limestones. SV ''Noorderlicht'' (''Northern Light'' or ''Aurora Borealis'') is a two-masted schooner built in 1910 as a light sailing vessel for the Imperial German Navy. Isfjorden (Svalbard)
Isfjorden is the second longest fjord in the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard. It lies on the west side of Spitsbergen, an island in the Arctic Ocean about midway between Norway and the North Pole, and the largest in the archipelago. The mountain of Alkhornet stands on the northern side of the entrance to the fjord, as does the coastal plain of Daudmannsøyra.
