Teliamura is a town and a Municipal Council in Khowai district in the Indian state of Tripura. It is on National Highway No. 08 of India. It is also the headquarters of the recently included sub-division of Teliamura. It is 45 km from Agartala, Capital of Tripura, 35 km from Khowai and 42 km from Ambassa. Teliamura Railway Station
Teliamura railway station (station code TLMR) is at Teliamura city in Khowai district in the Indian state of Tripura on the Lumding–Sabroom section. Administration It is in the Lumding railway division of the Northeast Frontier Railway zone of the Indian Railways. It has an average elevation of . The railway line has single broad gauge track from Lumding junction in Assam to Agartala in West Tripura district of Tripura. History Teliamura railway station became operation in 2008 with the metre-gauge line from Lumding to Agartala but later in 2016 entire section converted into broad-gauge line. Khowai District
Khowai district is a district of Tripura States and union territories of India, state of India. This district was created in January, 2012 when four new districts were created in Tripura, taking the number of districts in the state from four to eight. The district headquarters are located in the town Khowai. The district was carved out of West Tripura district along with new Sipahijala district, Sipahijala district. The district is divided into two subdivisions, namely Khowai and Teliamura. Etymology Khowai district derives its name from the namesake Khowai River, Khowai river, which runs across the district in north-south direction almost in the middle. Khowai is a town located in the Indian state of Tripura and a Municipal Council in Khowai district. The city lies on the banks of Khowai river and hence from the river the city gets its name. It was originally settled upon by Upendranath Roy. Located near the Bangladesh border, Khowai has boundaries with Bangladesh on its entire northern part. Kokborok Language
Kokborok (or Tripuri) is a Tibeto-Burman language of the Indian state of Tripura and neighbouring areas of Bangladesh. Its name comes from ''kók'' meaning "verbal" or "language" and ''borok'' meaning "people" or "human", It is one of the ancient languages of Northeast India. History Kokborok was formerly known as Tripuri and Tipra kok, with its name being changed in the 20th century. The names also refer to the inhabitants of the former Twipra kingdom, as well as the ethnicity of its speakers. National Highways Of India
The national highways in India are a network of limited access roads owned by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. National highways have flyover access or some controlled-access, where entrance and exit is through the side of the flyover. At each highway intersection, flyovers are provided to bypass the traffic on the city, town, or village. These highways are designed for speeds of 100 km/h.
