WSTE-DT (channel 7), branded on air as Teleisla, is a Spanish-language independent television station licensed to Ponce, Puerto Rico. Owned by TelevisaUnivision, the station maintains studios on Calle Carazo in Guaynabo. To provide island-wide coverage, WSTE maintains a network of five transmitter sites, located at Cerro Maravilla in Ponce, at Cerro La Marquesa in Aguas Buenas, at Cerro Canta Gallo in Aguada, Puerto Rico, Aguada, on Puerto Rico Highway 22, Highway 22 in Arecibo, and at the Monte del Estado in San Germán. WMTJ
WMTJ (channel 40), branded on-air as Sistema TV, is a PBS member television station serving San Juan, Puerto Rico that is licensed to Fajardo. The station is owned by Ana G. Méndez University. WMTJ's studios are located in San Juan, and its transmitter is located in the El Yunque National Forest. WMTJ has one full-service satellite: WQTO, virtual channel 26 (digital channel 19), in Ponce. WMTJ's digital signal was not on the air until a few months before the transition deadline. Installation of a digital transmitter for WMTJ had been difficult as the transmitter site is located in a remote tropical forest on national park land, requiring USDA Forest Service approvals of any new transmission tower. Puerto Rico Highway 22
Puerto Rico Highway 22 (PR-22), also part of unsigned Interstate PR2, is an long toll road on the north coast of Puerto Rico that connects the cities of San Juan and Hatillo. The road is also known as the ''José de Diego Expressway'' (Spanish: ''Expreso José de Diego''), and is part of unsigned Interstate PR-2. It is a 4-lane road for much of its length, but expands to up to 12 lanes in the San Juan metro area. The road is frequently congested, in particular during rush hour due to heavy commuter traffic. Route description PR-22 is Puerto Rico's most traveled highway. PR-22 runs parallel to PR-2 and is concurrent with unsigned Interstate Highway PRI-2. Hotel Ponce Intercontinental
The Hotel Ponce Intercontinental (also known as ''"El Ponce"'') is an abandoned hotel with a still existing structure at Cerro del Vigía in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The structure is considered a historic landmark and a national icon in the city of Ponce and Puerto Rico. The property is currently owned by Misla Hospitality Group, a family of local Ponce investors who bought it from CBC Development. Its architecture is classical modern. When it opened, in 1960, it became the first modern hotel in the city. The structure is currently under reconstruction and is expected to reopen under the Marriott's Tribute Portfolio brand. Isabel Lorenza (Lorencita) Ramírez de Arellano y Bartoli (July 8, 1902 – March 5, 1970) was the first wife of former Governor of Puerto Rico Luis A. Ferré and served as First Lady of Puerto Rico, First Lady from 1968 until her death in 1970.
