Telechrome
Telechrome was the first all-electronic single-tube color television system. It was invented by well-known Scottish television engineer, John Logie Baird, who had previously made the first public television broadcast, as well as the first color broadcast using a pre-Telechrome system. Telechrome used two electron guns aimed at either side of a thin, semi-transparent mica sheet. One of the sides was covered in cyan phosphor and the other red-orange, producing a limited color gamut, but well suited to displaying skin tones. With minor modifications, the system could also be used to produce 3D images. Telechrome was selected as the basis for a UK-wide television standard by a committee in 1944, but the difficult task of converting the two-color system to three-color RGB was still under way when Baird died in 1946. John Logie Baird (; 13 August 188814 June 1946) was a Scottish inventor, electrical engineer, and innovator who demonstrated the world's first mechanical Mechanical television, television system on 26 January 1926. Paddy Naismith or Eirane Redmond Naismith (16 May 1903 – 28 November 1963) was a British actress, pilot and racing driver. She appeared in an early live colour TV demonstration. Life She was born in 1908 to parents John Naismith and Mary Francis (née Redmond) Naismith. Her father sold car tyres and her mother was a well-known clairvoyant. Her sisters, Jill and Sheila, were also actresses. She trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. In 1928 she was working with the Welsh Person Elder Company, who were making silent films based on the novels by the English writer W. W. Jacobs, with Jacobs involved in the creation of the films. Alexandra Palace is an entertainment and sports venue in North London, situated between Wood Green and Muswell Hill in the London Borough of Haringey. A listed building, Grade II listed building, it is built on the site of Tottenham Wood and the later Tottenham Wood Farm. Anaglyph 3D is the Stereoscopy, stereoscopic 3D effect achieved by means of encoding each eye's image using filters of different (usually Complementary colors, chromatically opposite) colors, typically red and cyan. Anaglyph 3D images contain two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. When viewed through the "color-coded" "anaglyph glasses", each of the two images is visible to the eye it is intended for, revealing an integrated stereoscopic image. A phosphor is a substance that exhibits the phenomenon of luminescence; it emits light when exposed to some type of radiant energy.
