Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited is a Division (business), division of Telangana State Electricity Board. It is responsible for power generation in the state of Telangana. It has ceased to do power trading and has retained with powers of controlling system operations of power generation after formation of Telangana state. Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited has been incorporated under companies Act, 2013, on 19 May 2014 and commenced its operations from 2 June 2014. Sammakka Sagar Barrage
Sammakka Sagar Barrage (or Thupakulagudem Barrage) is a barrage across Godavari River at Thupakulagudem Village, Eturnagaram Mandal, Mulugu District of Telangana State. It stabilizes the existing irrigated area of 2,51,310 Hectare under J. Chokka Rao Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme and 3,04,000 hectares of Sriram Sagar Project stages I & II with 50 TMC of water. Another 50 TMC will be used for providing drinking water to villages en route. Sammakka Sagar Hydro Electric Project has been planned for generation of 240MW (10 units of 24MW) through run-of-the-river generation. Nizam of Hyderabad was the title of the ruler of Hyderabad State ( part of the Indian state of Telangana, and the Kalyana-Karnataka region of Karnataka). Nizam Sagar Dam is an Indian dam named after the Nizam of Hyderabad. Singur Dam also written as Singoor (సింగూర్ in Telugu) is an irrigation, hydroelectric and drinking water project located in Singooru village near Sangareddy district in Telangana, India. It is a major source of drinking water for Hyderabad city. The dam is built on the river Manjira. The construction was completed in 1998. Singur reservoir has live storage capacity of 29 Tmcft It is a popular tourist destination. The Sriram Sagar Project is also known as the Pochampadu Project is an Indian flood-flow project on the Godavari. The Project is located in Nizamabad district, 3 km away from National Highway 44.
