Teijo, Salo
Teijo (; ) is a village in Perniö, Salo, in Southwest Finland. It is located about southwest of the Salo's centre and about west of the Perniö's centre. At the end of 2023, about 370 inhabitants lived in Teijo. The village is known for Teijo Manor and its nearby ironworks, shipyard, and national park of the same name. There is also a ski resort in connection with the national park. In 2010, Teijo was chosen as the village of the year in Southwest Finland. Teijo National Park
Teijo National Park (, ) is a national park in Southwest Finland, Finland in the Perniö area of Salo municipality. The park was established on January 1, 2015, and covers an area of . It is maintained by Metsähallitus. In the National Park, there is one eutrophic fen, which is a type of mire that has almost disappeared in southern Finland. The forests are mainly young managed pine forests. The park is also home for several species of freshwater fish, nesting birds including goose, cranes, sandpipers and grouse; and mammals such as moose and deer. There are approximately of marked trails in the park, including of trails for physically disabled persons. Included in the national park are historical industrial areas, including a former iron works area in Kirjakkala. The iron works contain many log houses from the 1800s which have been renovated to their original state. Teijo Eloranta (born 3 January 1960) is a Finnish actor, television writer and blues musician. His stage name is Maisteri T. Born in Hämeenlinna, Finland, Eloranta began his career in 1991 in television appearing chiefly on TV between then and 2003. However, since 2003 he has increasingly moved into film. Thomas Leroy Kasat (March 24, 1956 – April 10, 2020) was an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Teijo Khan/Teijho Khan. As Khan, Kasat portrayed an Asian savage despite being Caucasian. He worked as part of Paul Jones' Army in Jim Crockett Promotions and also worked for the American Wrestling Association (AWA). He was married to J. Elizabeth Freeman from 1996-2003. Professional wrestling career Kasat made his professional wrestling debut in 1986 in Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, portraying the Asian savage ring character Teijo Khan (also spelled Teijho Khan) despite being Caucasian.
