Tehran Symphony Orchestra
The Tehran Symphony Orchestra (TSO, fa, ارکستر سمفونیک تهران), founded in 1933, is Iran's oldest and largest symphony orchestra. It was founded as the ''Municipality Symphony Orchestra'' by Gholamhossein Minbashian, before entering its modern form under Parviz Mahmoud in 1946. In the years that followed, conductors such as Rubik (Ruben) Gregorian, Morteza Hannaneh, Haymo Taeuber, Heshmat Sanjari, and Farhad Meshkat took over as the conductors of the Orchestra. After the 1979 Revolution, many musicians of the TSO emigrated to Europe and the US. For some years Heshmat Sanjari and then Fereydoun Nasseri were the conductors. Shahrdad Rouhani
Shahrdad Rohani, also known as Shardad Rohani ( fa, شهرداد روحانی, born 27 May 1954) is an Iranian-American composer, violinist/pianist, and conductor. His style is contemporary and he is well known for composing and conducting classical, instrumental, adult contemporary/new age, film soundtrack as well as pop music. He has been the principal conductor and music director of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra since 2016. Early life He was born in 1954 in Tehran, Iran. His father, Reza Rohani, was an accomplished musician and as a result, Shahrdad and all of his brothers including Anoushiravan Rohani and Ardeshir Rohani followed in their father's footsteps. Nader Mashayekhi
Nader Mashayekhi ( fa, نادر مشایخی; born November 26, 1958 in Tehran) is an Iranian composer. From 2006 to July 2007 he was conductor of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. He is the son of Jamshid Mashayekhi. Mashayekhi studied under Roman Haubenstock-Ramati at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. In the 1990s he was music director of the Austrian new music ensemble "Wien 2001". His works have been performed by Klangforum Wien (1992–95), Ensemble Work in Progress, Berlin (1993), Ensemble Zwischen Töne, Berlin (1997–2000), Savarian Symphony Orchestra (1997), Radio Symphony Orchestra, Vienna (1998), and the Tehran Symphony Orchestra (1998–2000). Soodabeh Salem (also Sudabeh Salam, fa, سودابه سالم , born 1954 in Tehran) is an Iranian musician, piano player and the conductor of Iran's Children Orchestra. Salem succeeded in founding an orchestra to promote Children's music despite numerous difficulties. Her orchestra's performance was praised in Fajr Music Festival (2007). Iran's National Orchestra ( fa, ارکستر ملی ایران) is a national orchestra of Iran, which was founded in 1998 under the conduction of Farhad Fakhreddini. The orchestra had been formed by Persian traditional instruments, strings and woodwind instruments. During its history, INO was focused on Persian composers compositions. In the Orchestra's debut concert at Roodaki Great Hall in Tehran, works by Ali Tajvidi, Farhad Fakhreddini and Hossein Alizadeh were performed and Mohammad Reza Shajarian was the singer. The Iran National Orchestra also performed outside of Iran, in Switzerland and Kuwait. The Orchestra was dissolved in October 2012, reportedly because of financial problems. Wolfgang Wengenroth (born 15 November 1975 in Bonn, Germany) is a German conductor. Biography Wolfgang Wengenroth studied piano and conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, as well as at thUniversity of Music Saarin Saarbrücken, Germany. He graduated in the year 2000. In 2002 he started working as solo-repetiteur at the Komische Oper in Berlin.
