Teddy Da Costa
Teddy Da Costa (born 17 February 1986) is a Polish–French professional ice hockey player for the Spartiates de Marseille of the Ligue Magnus and the French national team. Playing career Da Costa first played professionally in 2004–05 for the Rapaces de Gap, where he played with his brother Gabriel. He scored eight goals and three assists in 19 games. The following season, he signed with KH Zagłębie Sosnowiec in the Polska Hokej Liga (PHL), where he would play the next five seasons. Da Costa returned to France, joining the Dragons de Rouen for the 2010–11 season. Da Costa returned to Poland to play with GKS Tychy for two seasons. In 2013, he signed with Hokki of the Mestis, the second-tier league in Finland. For the 2014–15 season he was signed by Tappara of the SM-liiga, Finland's highest level. Melun
Melun () is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region, north-central France. It is located on the southeastern outskirts of Paris, about from the centre of the capital. France Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The France men's national ice hockey team has participated in the IIHF European Championships, the IIHF World Hockey Championships and the Olympic Games. As of 2016, it is ranked 14th in the world in the IIHF World Rankings. The team is overseen by the Fédération Française de Hockey sur Glace. Notable recent wins include upsets against Russia at the 2013 IIHF World Championship, Canada at the 2014 IIHF World Championship, and a triumphant 5–1 over Finland as the tournament host of 2017 IIHF World Championship. Patrick Francheterre coached the national team in 1985 and 1986, then managed the team from 1993 to 1997 and from 2004 to 2014, and received the Paul Loicq Award in 2017. France Men's National Junior Ice Hockey Team
The French men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team in France. The team represents France at the International Ice Hockey Federation's IIHF World U20 Championship's IIHF World Junior Championship, World Junior Hockey Championship Division I. History France made their first and only appearance at the top level at the 2002 World Junior Championships, when the French team defeated the likes of Germany, Ukraine, Austria, Norway, Latvia, and Poland, all of whom would eventually or saw top division competition. SM-liiga
The Liiga, colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. The league comprises 16 teams from all around Finland with relegation and promotion between the Mestis. The winner of the Liiga playoffs is awarded the Kanada-malja at the end of each season. Teams from the Liiga participate in the IIHF's annual Champions Hockey League (CHL), competing for the European Trophy. Participation is based on the strength of the various leagues in Europe (excluding the European/Asian Kontinental Hockey League). The Liiga was established in 1975 to replace the former SM-sarja, which was fundamentally an amateur competition. Mestis
Mestis (from , meaning 'Championship series', stylized as MEST1S) is the second-highest men's ice hockey league in Finland. The league was established by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 2000 to replace the I-divisioona ('First Division'). Being promoted to SM-liiga is possible if a Mestis team beats a SM-liiga club in the qualification series and matches all the criteria set by the SM-liiga. Mestis, however, is an open league where relegation and promotion are possible with the 3rd league, Suomi-sarja. Mestis is also the highest league governed by the FIHA. Hokki
Kajaanin Hokki was a Finnish ice hockey team based at Kajaani. The team was founded in 1968 and folded in 2025 due to bankruptcy. The last season of Hokki was the 2024-25 Mestis season where they positioned last. The club Hokki was promoted from Suomi-sarja to Mestis in the end of season 2001–02 after beating Diskos of Jyväskylä in qualifications. Hokki's home venue is located in Vimpelinlaakso and has the capacity of 1,591. GKS Tychy
GKS Tychy is a Polish professional football club, based in Tychy, that competes in the Polish I liga. The club was founded in 1971. It played in the Ekstraklasa between 1974–1977 and 1995–1997. Their biggest success was a second-place finish in the 1975–76 Ekstraklasa season.
