Ted Quillin
Theodore Quillin (born February 17, 1930, in Oklahoma City – April 20, 2011) was an American radio personality who worked at pioneering Top 40 station KFWB. He was one of the original "Seven Swingin' Gentlemen" who brought rock and roll into its first major market in 1958 at KFWB in Hollywood. He was in radio for over 60 years and was honored by the Nevada Broadcasters in 2005, when he was inducted into their Hall of Fame. KDAY (93.5 FM, "93.5 KDAY") is a radio station that is licensed to Redondo Beach, California and serves the Greater Los Angeles area. The station is owned by Meruelo Media and airs a classic hip hop format. The station's studios are located in Burbank and its transmitter is in Baldwin Hills. Rigdon Osmond Dees III (born March 14, 1950), best known as Rick Dees, is an American entertainer, radio personality, comedian, actor, and voice artist, best known for his internationally syndicated radio show '' The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 Countdown'' and for the 1976 satirical novelty song " Disco Duck". Dees is a People's Choice Award recipient, a Grammy-nominated performing artist, and Broadcast Hall of Fame inductee. He performed the title song for the film '' Meatballs''. He co-founded the E. W. ''La Bamba'' is a 1987 American biographical drama film written and directed by Luis Valdez. The film follows the life and short-lived musical career of American Chicano rock and roll star Ritchie Valens. Don Imus
John Donald Imus Jr. ( ; July 23, 1940 – December 27, 2019), also known as Imus, was an American radio personality, television show host, recording artist, and author. His radio show '' Imus in the Morning'' was aired on various stations and digital platforms nationwide until 2018. Imus began his first radio job at KUTY in Palmdale, California in 1968. Three years later, he landed the morning broadcast position at WNBC in New York City. He was fired from WNBC in 1977, worked for a year at WHK in Cleveland, and was rehired by WNBC in 1979. He remained at WNBC until it left the air in 1988, at which time his show moved to WFAN, which took over WNBC's former frequency of 660 kHz.
