Technothriller
A techno-thriller or technothriller is a hybrid genre drawing from science fiction, thrillers, spy fiction, action, and war novels. They include a disproportionate amount (relative to other genres) of technical details on their subject matter (typically military technology); only hard science fiction tends towards a comparable level of supporting detail on the technical side. The inner workings of technology and the mechanics of various disciplines (espionage, martial arts, politics) are thoroughly explored, and the plot often turns on the particulars of that exploration. This genre began to exist and establish itself in the early 20th century with further developments and focus on the genre in the mid 20th century. Grigory Borisovich Adamov (; born Abram Borukhovich Gibs; Абрам Борухович Гибс; May 18, 1886 - June 14, 1945) was a Soviet science fiction writer, best known for his novels ''Conquerors of the Underground'' (1937), ''The Mystery of the Two Oceans'' (1939) and ''The Ousting of the Ruler'' (1946). Biography Abram Gibs was born in Kherson, the seventh child of a poor Jewish timber factory worker. Expelled from a local gymnasium due to his family's inability to pay for the course, he started to earn his living by giving lessons in grammar and arithmetic. The Hunt For Red October
''The Hunt for Red October'' is the debut novel by American author Tom Clancy, first published on October 1, 1984, by the Naval Institute Press. It depicts Soviet submarine captain Marko Ramius as he seemingly goes rogue with his country's cutting-edge ballistic missile submarine ''Red October'', and marks the first appearance of Clancy's most popular fictional character, Jack Ryan, an analyst working for the Central Intelligence Agency, as he must prove his theory that Ramius is intending to defect to the United States. ''The Hunt for Red October'' launched Clancy's career as a novelist, especially after US President Ronald Reagan remarked that he had enjoyed reading the book. Boyd Morrison
Boyd Morrison (* February 17, 1967) is an American thriller novelist, actor and former Jeopardy! champion. He has co-authored several books with The New York Times fiction best-seller Clive Cussler. Education Boyd Morrison has earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rice University and a PhD from Virginia Tech in industrial engineering. Career After his graduation from Rice University, Morrison joined Lockheed working on the Space Station Freedom project at Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. He left NASA to get his PhD in industrial engineering from Virginia Tech. Morrison moved to Seattle and went to work for Microsoft in the Xbox games group. Conspiracy Fiction
The conspiracy thriller (or paranoid thriller) is a subgenre of thriller fiction. The protagonists of conspiracy thrillers are often journalists or amateur investigators who find themselves (often inadvertently) pulling on a small thread which unravels a vast conspiracy that ultimately goes "all the way to the top." The complexities of historical fact are recast as a morality play in which bad people cause bad events, and good people identify and defeat them. Conspiracies are often played out as "man-in-peril" (or "woman-in-peril") stories, or yield quest narratives similar to those found in whodunits and detective stories. A war novel or military fiction is a novel about war.
