Techniker Beach Tour
The Techniker Beach Tour was a series of professional beach volleyball tournaments held annually in Germany. Prior to the 2018 season, it was known as the Smart Beach Tour. The tour is organized by the German Volleyball Association, and each season ends with the German Beach Volleyball Championships held at Timmendorfer Beach. History The Smart Beach Tour began in 2006, replacing the German Masters and Cups series that began in 1993. Chantal Laboureur
Chantal Laboureur (born 4 January 1990) is a retired German beach volleyball player. Professional career From 2021 to 2022 her teammate has been Sarah Schulz. She has ended her career in late 2022. World tour 2016 At the 2016 Grand Slam at Long Beach, California, In semi final action (Aug 27, 2016) Laboureur and Julia Sude lost to Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross of United States straight sets (21 - 17, 21 - 16). Bronze medal match (Germany vs Germany) the pair won in straight sets (21-16, 21–17) against Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler. The pair competed at the Toronto World Tour finals in Sept. 2016 placing 1st in Pool D and advance to Quarter Finals. Personal life Laboureur is of distant French descent on her father's side. Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two to four players each on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works together to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court. Teams are allowed up to three touches to return the ball across the net, and individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively except after a touch off an attempted block. Making a block touch leaves only two more touches before the ball must be hit over. The ball is put in play with a serve—a hit by the server from behind the rear court boundary over the net to the opponents. The receiving team typically uses their three touches to pass the ball, set it up for an attack, and then attack the ball by sending it back over the net. Jonas Reckermann
Jonas Reckermann (born 26 May 1979) is a German retired beach volleyball player. Together with his most recent partner Julius Brink, he won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which, along with Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst are the most successful Olympic appearances of a German beach volleyball team. They were the first European duo to win the Olympic gold medal – male or female competition. In addition to that they also were the first European team ever to win a world championship title and are currently ranked 22nd on the FIVB World Tour (as of 23 July 2012).
