Tebo Creek
Tebo Creek is a stream in Benton and Henry Counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. The stream begins at the confluence of East Fork Tebo Creek and the Middle Fork Tebo Creek just to the southeast of Calhoun and south of Missouri Route 52 at . The stream flows generally south and southeast to enter the waters of Truman Reservoir east of Clinton. Prior to the formation of the lake the stream continued to the southeast to enter the South Grand River to the east of Racket on Missouri Route 7 and just northwest of Harry S Truman State Park in Benton County at . The county was organized December 13, 1834 as Rives County but was renamed in 1841 for Revolutionary War patriot Patrick Henry. Missouri Route 52
Route 52 is an east/west highway running from its eastern terminus at Route 133 east of St. Elizabeth to the Kansas state line where it continues as K-52 (this road continues for 23 additional miles). Highway 52 comprises of primarily two-lane roadway in Missouri. Route 52 was formerly Route 24 between Eldon and the Kansas state line. The numbering change was to avoid duplication with the new U.S. Route 24 which came through Missouri in 1926. Route description Route 52 begins at the Kansas state line from a continuation from K-52. Truman Reservoir
The Harry S Truman Reservoir, also known as Truman Lake, is located in the state of Missouri, United States. It is located between Clinton and Warsaw, on the Osage River and extends south to Osceola. The dam is located in Benton County, but the reservoir also extends into parts of Henry, St. Clair, and Hickory counties. History The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers built and manages the lake and dam. It is used primarily for flood control. It is also used for power generation, recreation, and wildlife management. Originally named Kaysinger Bluff Dam and Reservoir in 1954, when construction was authorized, construction began in August 1964. It was renamed the Harry S Truman Dam and Reservoir, in honor of the former president from Missouri, by Congress in 1970. Construction was completed in 1979. Clinton, Missouri
Clinton is a city in Henry County, Missouri, United States. The population was 8,792 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Henry County. History Clinton was laid out in 1836. The city was named for New York Governor DeWitt Clinton, a key promoter of the Erie Canal. A post office called Clinton has been in operation since 1850. The railroad reached Clinton in 1870, when the Census put the population at 840. Clinton was incorporated as the least-populous type of city in Missouri, a fourth-class city, in 1878. South Grand River
The South Grand River is a stream in Bates, Cass, Henry and Benton counties of west central Missouri. It is a tributary of the Osage River. The stream headwaters are in Cass County at the confluence of Massey Creek and East Creek at three miles east of Cleveland and five miles southwest of Peculiar. The stream flows southeast crossing under Missouri Route 2 near Freeman and US Route 71 near Archie. Just to the southeast of Archie the stream turns to the east and becomes the boundary between Cass and Bates counties. The stream flows east through the Settles Ford Conservation Area and enters Henry County and passes south of Urich and Missouri Route 7. Missouri Route 7
Route 7 is a state highway with its northern terminus at U.S. Route 24 in northeast Independence and its southern terminus at Interstate 44 southeast of Richland (near the town of Laquey which it doesn't quite reach). The section between Harrisonville (at a junction with Interstate 49/ U.S. Route 71) and Clinton (at a junction with Route 13) provides an important link for traffic between Springfield and Kansas City.
