Tearstained is the second studio album by Finnish gothic metal band Charon. It was originally released by the Danish label Diehard Records, which sold the rights to Finland's Spinefarm Records for re-release in 2002. Charon (band)
Charon are a Finnish gothic metal band from Raahe. History Charon was founded in 1992 by Antti Karihtala, Teemu Hautamäki, Pasi Sipilä, and Jasse Hast and was originally a brutal death metal act. After releasing three promo albums and two demos, all self-released, the band signed a record deal with Emanzipation Productions. Through Emanzipation, Charon released their first two full-length albums Sorrowburn and Tearstained in 1998 and 2000 respectively. After touring with fellow Finlanders Sentenced, the band parted ways with Emanzipation and signed to Spinefarm Records. During the summer of 2001 Charon recorded their third studio album Downhearted (album), Downhearted. Prior to the release of the full album, the single ''Little Angel (song), Little Angel'', which rose to number 5 on the Finnish singles chart, was released. Niklas Sundin
Niklas Sundin (born 13 August 1974) is a Swedish musician, best known as a founding member and former lead guitarist of the melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity from 1989–2020. In 2019, he founded his own band called Mitochondrial Sun, which has released three full-length studio albums to date. He is also a member of Time and the Hunter, a project founded in collaboration with Italian musician Enrico Longhin. He was a guitarist in the metal band Laethora from 2005–2010. In Dark Tranquillity, he was one of only two members (the other being drummer Anders Jivarp) to maintain his role, unlike the other members who have or had switched. Raahe
Raahe (; ; ) is a town in Finland, located on the western coast of the country. Raahe is situated in the North Ostrobothnia region, along the Gulf of Bothnia. The population of Raahe is approximately , while the sub-region has a population of approximately . It is the most populous municipality in Finland. Spinefarm Records is an international record label. Founded in Finland in 1990, Spinefarm was acquired by Universal Music Group in 2002. History Spinefarm Records began as a mailorder distribution company, founded by Riku Pääkkönen. The company evolved into a record label for Finnish acts such as Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Sonata Arctica. Since 2002, Spinefarm has been part of Universal Music Group, but operates as an independent business unit. Pääkkönen sold the original Ranka publishing catalog to Warner/Chappell Music in 2008, including several songs by Spinefarm acts like Children Of Bodom, Finntroll, and Nightwish.
