Team Todenhöfer – The Justice Party ''(german: Team Todenhöfer – Die Gerechtigkeitspartei)'' is a political party in Germany, founded in 2020 by former Christian Democratic Union politician Jürgen Todenhöfer. The party opposes foreign missions by the Bundeswehr, proposes two-term limits for the Bundestag and government ministers, and supports the reduction of the public service and cutting taxes. Todenhöfer terminated his CDU membership and launched the party on 12 November 2020, his eightieth birthday. Team Todenhöfer ran in the federal election as well as state elections in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, all of which took place on 26 September 2021. Jürgen Todenhöfer
Jürgen Todenhöfer (born 12 November 1940) is a German author, journalist, politician, and executive. Early life and education Todenhöfer was born in Offenburg in what is now the current German state of Baden-Württemberg, and studied law at the universities of Munich, Paris, Bonn and Freiburg. He graduated as a doctor of law in 1969 and worked as a judge from 1972 on. Politics Todenhöfer became a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in 1970 which he left on 12 November 2020, his 80th birthday, to found a new political party and was a member of the Bundestag from 13 December 1972 to 20 December 1990 (five election periods) where he represented Tübingen and was affiliated with the pejoratively named " Stahlhelm-Fraktion." 2021 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Election
The 2021 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state election was held on 26 September 2021 to elect the 8th Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The incumbent government is a coalition of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and Christian Democratic Union (CDU) led by Minister President Manuela Schwesig. The SPD won a landslide plurality of almost 40% of votes, a nine percentage point increase from 2016. The opposition Alternative for Germany (AfD) remained the second largest party but declined to under 17%. The CDU recorded its worst ever result in the state with 13.3%, while The Left also declined to 10%. Alliance 90/The Greens and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) both won around 6% of votes and re-entered the Landtag after previously falling out in 2016 and 2011, respectively. 2021 Berlin State Election
The 2021 Berlin state election was held on 26 September 2021 to elect the 19th Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin. The incumbent government was a coalition of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), The Left, and The Greens led by Governing Mayor Michael Müller. Müller did not run for re-election as Mayor, and former federal minister Franziska Giffey led the SPD in the election. The Berlin expropriation referendum was held on the same day, as well as the Borough council elections who function as the municipal elections of Berlin.
