Team Slovenia
The Olympic Committee of Slovenia (; OKS) ensures the participation of Slovenian athletes at the Olympic Games, the Mediterranean Games, and the European Youth Olympic Festival. The Committee gathers 39 national sports federations governing various sports in Slovenia, who elect the Committee's executive council, which is composed of president and 21 council members. History Following Slovenia's independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, the Olympic Committee was established on 15 October 1991, and was officially admitted as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 17 January 1992, which allowed Slovenian athletes to compete at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. Alpine Association Of Slovenia
The Alpine Association of Slovenia () is the association of volunteer Alpine clubs () providing the conditions for the development and exercising of mountaineering and hill walking in Slovenia and abroad. It is among the Slovenian non-governmental organisations with the highest membership and has the largest number of members of all sports organisations in Slovenia. As of October 2015, the association included 287 branches (mountaineering/hill walking clubs, mountain rescue stations, etc.), which altogether had 53,975 (as of 2014) members of all ages. It maintained 2008 mountain trails with a total length of over (of this, 80 long-distance trails) and 179 mountain lodges and bivouac shelters with c. 7,400 beds. Miroslav Cerar (gymnast)
Miroslav Cerar (; born 28 October 1939) is a Yugoslav former gymnast and lawyer of Slovene ethnicity who won the pommel horse event at the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics. He is also a four-time World champion and a ten-time European champion. Domestically, Cerar won 13 national all-around titles and was chosen eight times as Yugoslavia's Athlete of the Year. He was awarded the Silver Olympic Order by the International Olympic Committee. He is a co-founder of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia and a member of the executive committee of the European Fair Play Movement.
