Team Chicky World
Team Chicky World was a Danish professional road bicycle racing team, which was active in the seasons 1998 to 1999. The main sponsor Danpo is a Danish producer of poultry products. Chicky World is a brand name of Danpo. Danpo decided not to renew the sponsorship due to the media focus on doping. Kim Andersen, former yellow jersey rider in Tour de France, was sports director both years. Norwegian Steffen Kjærgaard was the top rider of the team, winning great victories both years including Circuit de la Sarthe (1999), Bayern rundfahrt (1998) and Tour of Normandy (1999). He left the team to join US Postal Service in 2000. Swedish rider Martin Rittsel also won som great victories for the fantastic team including Tour of Argentina. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on paved roads. Road racing is the most popular professional form of bicycle racing, in terms of numbers of competitors, events and spectators. The two most common competition formats are mass start events, where riders start simultaneously (though sometimes with a handicap) and race to a set finish point; and time trials, where individual riders or teams race a course alone against the clock. Kim Andersen (cyclist)
Kim Andersen (born 10 February 1958 in Malling, Denmark) is a former professional Danish road bicycle racer and current cycling team directeur sportif. From 2004 to 2010, he was a directeur sportif for Danish ProTour Team Saxo Bank. From 2011, he holds the same position at the Leopard Trek team. Rider In 1983 he became the first Dane to wear the yellow jersey in the Tour de France, and later won stages in that race. He has also sported stage wins in Vuelta a España, Four Days of Dunkirk, Ronde van Nederland, Midi Libre and Tour de Suisse, as well as numerous individual wins, 31 during his career. Steffen Kjærgaard (born 24 May 1973) is a Norwegian former professional cyclist. Kjærgaard cycled for US Postal Service (2000–2003). He competed in the individual pursuit at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He twice participated in the Tour de France, taking 89th place in 2000 and 101st place in 2001; in both years team captain Lance Armstrong initially won overall but was later disqualified due to doping. Known as a strong time-trial cyclist, Kjærgaard won the overall World Cup in track cycling in 1993. He won the Norwegian National Road Race Championship in 1994. Nicki Sørensen (born 14 May 1975) is a Danish former professional road bicycle racer, and was directeur sportif of UCI Professional Continental team . He competed in five consecutive editions of the Tour de France from 2001 to 2005. Riding as an all-round rider who rode well in hilly terrain, Sørensen was a valued support for the team leader without many wins of his own.
