Teachers Only
''Teachers Only'' is an American sitcom on NBC that centered on the faculty of a Los Angeles high school who spent a lot of time in the teacher's lounge, where the students were not allowed. Following a short first season, the show was completely overhauled, with only stars Lynn Redgrave and Norman Fell returning. Production Lynn Redgrave had starred on CBS's '' House Calls'' for two seasons, but she was replaced by Sharon Gless in the third. It was heavily reported that she was fired for breastfeeding her newborn at work, but the network claimed it was a budget dispute (Redgrave's then-husband/manager later admitted both parts were true). Eager to cash in on the publicity and cater to her every need, third-place network NBC quickly offered her this series. A sitcom, a Portmanteau, portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Commodores are an American funk and soul band, which were at their peak in the late 1970s through the mid 1980s. The members of the group met as mostly freshmen at Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) in 1968, and signed with Motown in November 1972, having first caught the public eye opening for the Jackson 5 while on tour. ''The Ropers'' is an American sitcom television series that aired on ABC from March 13, 1979, to May 22, 1980.
