Teacheramma
''Teacheramma'' () is a 1968 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language Drama (film and television), drama film directed by Puttanna Kanagal. The film stars Jaishankar (actor), Jaishankar, R. Muthuraman, Muthuraman, C. R. Vijayakumari and Vanisri. It was released on 12 April 1968 and became a success. The film was remade in Malayalam as ''Premashilpi'' (1978). Plot A school teacher sacrifices her love for the sake of her friend. Cast Production ''Teacheramma'' was directed by Puttanna Kanagal, produced by Subhalakshmi Pictures and written by Balamurugan. Puttanna Kanagal
Shubraveshti Ramaswamiah Seetharama Sharma (1 December 1933 – 5 June 1985), known popularly as S. R. Puttanna Kanagal, was an Indian filmmaker known for his work in Kannada cinema. He is often considered one of Kannada cinema's most influential filmmakers. Background and personal life Puttanna Kanagal was born to Ramaswamaiah and Subbamma in Kanagal, a village in the erstwhile Kingdom of Mysore into a poor family. As he hailed from a poor brahmin family, he had to endure hardships and struggled to get a decent job. He worked as a teacher, salesman and even as a cleaner. His job as a publicity boy brought him closer to theatre and subsequently to cinema. His association with films began when he started working for B. R. Panthulu as an assistant director and also as his driver. His first film as an assistant director was ''Rathnagiri Rahasya'' (1957). ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as ''Ponniyin Selvan'' and ''Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. The chief minister of Tamil Nadu is the chief executive of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. In accordance with the Constitution of India, the governor is a state's ''de jure'' head, but ''de facto'' executive authority rests with the chief minister.
