Te Kaha (stadium)
One New Zealand Stadium, the Canterbury Multi-Use Arena, also known as ''Te Kaha'', is a multi-use sports arena in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is situated on land bordered by Hereford, Madras, Tuam, and Barbadoes streets. The facility is designed as a replacement for Lancaster Park, which was damaged in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake and demolished in 2019. The stadium is part of the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan developed by the government in 2012, and is scheduled to open in April 2026. Progress After many years of discussion, the city council confirmed a stadium investment case in December 2019 and cabinet approved its funding contribution in March 2020. Christchurch Central City
Christchurch Central City or Christchurch City Centre is the geographical centre and the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand. It is defined as the area within the Four Avenues (Bealey Avenue, Fitzgerald Avenue, Moorhouse Avenue and Deans Avenue) and thus includes the densely built up central city, some less dense surrounding areas of residential, educational and industrial usage, and green space including Hagley Park, Christchurch, Hagley Park, the Christchurch Botanic Gardens and the Barbadoes Street Cemetery. Nicola Joanne Wagner (born 23 July 1953) is a former New Zealand politician. After a career in teaching and business, she was a National Party member of the New Zealand House of Representatives from 2005 to 2020, when she retired. Sport in Christchurch has developed from the time of the initial settlement of Canterbury Region, Canterbury by British migrants, and remains an important part of community life.
