Tayshaun Prince
Tayshaun Durell Prince (born February 28, 1980) is an American professional basketball executive and former player for the National Basketball Association (NBA). The small forward graduated from Dominguez High School before playing college basketball for the University of Kentucky. He was drafted 23rd overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2002 NBA draft and went on to win a championship with the team in 2004. Prince is most remembered for his performance with the Pistons in the 2004 NBA playoffs. During Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers, with the Pistons leading 69–67, Prince prevented the game from potentially going to overtime by preventing a go-ahead transition layup by Reggie Miller, blocking the shot in a play known as "The Block". The Detroit Pistons are an American professional basketball team based in Detroit. The SEC men's basketball tournament is the conference tournament in basketball for the Southeastern Conference (SEC). FIBA Americas Championship
The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organized the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament. Through the 2015 edition, the Americas Championship took place every two years, and was also a qualifying tournament for the FIBA World Cup and the Summer Olympic Games. 2008 United States Men's Olympic Basketball Team
The men's national basketball team of the United States won the gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. They qualified for the Olympics by winning the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ''Parade'' All-America Boys Basketball Team was an annual selection by ''Parade'' that nationally honored the top high school boys' basketball players in the United States.
