Tatran Stadium
Tatran Stadium (''Štadión Tatran Prešov'' in Slovak language, Slovak) is a multi-purpose stadium in Prešov, Slovakia. Currently, it is used for association football matches and it will be host the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia. The stadium has been under reconstruction until June 2025. The stadium new capacity should be 6,500 spectators (all seated) after reconstruction. The stadium old capacity was 5,410 spectators (all seated). History The first playing field was built in 1899. In 1907, the stadium had a capacity of 400 people. During the World War II bombing, the stadium was damaged and burned out. In 1945-47 new tribunes with 4500 seats were built. In 1994, the capacity was increased to 7900, later to 14000. Due to renovation work in 2009 the capacity was then decreased to 5,410 (all seats). 2017–2025 reconstruction Between 2017–2025, the current stadium will be replaced by new modern all-sitting arena with capacity of 6,500 spectators. Prešov
Prešov () is a city in eastern Slovakia. It is the seat of administrative Prešov Region () and Šariš. With a population of approximately 85,000 for the city, and in total more than 100,000 with the urban area, it is the second-largest city in eastern Slovakia and the List of cities and towns in Slovakia, third-largest city in all of Slovakia, after the nearby city of Košice. It belongs to the :sk:Košicko-prešovská aglomerácia, Košice-Prešov agglomeration and is the natural cultural, economic, transport and administrative center of the Prešov Region. Jozef Kožlej
Jozef Kožlej (born 8 July 1973) is a Slovak retired professional footballer who played as a forward. He played in Czechoslovakia, Germany, Greece and Cyprus. Club career Born in Stropkov, Kožlej began playing youth football for Tesla Stropkov and 1. FC Tatran Prešov. He is well known for his excellent goal-scoring ability and holds the all-time record among Slovak footballers. Marek Mintál (; born 2 September 1977) is a Slovak professional football coach and a former player who played as a attacking midfielder or forward. Playing career Mintál started to play football in Slovak club MŠK Žilina, with whom he won back-to-back Slovak championships in 2001–02 and 2002–03. This was also due to his scoring 20 (2001–02) and 21 (2002–03) goals respectively. With this number of goals he also became the Slovak top scorer in both seasons.
