Tatjana Maria (née Malek; born 8 August 1987) is a German professional tennis player. In January 2024 she reached her career-best singles ranking of world No. 42, and in June 2016, she peaked at No. 54 in the doubles rankings. She has won four singles titles and four doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as one singles title on the WTA Challenger Tour. She has also won 16 singles and 15 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. She has played 1243 matches, the third highest number of tennis matches in the Open Era, after just Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert. 2018 Wimbledon Championships – Women's Doubles
Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Nicole Melichar and Květa Peschke in the final, 6–4, 4–6, 6–0 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. They became the first team to win the Channel Slam (the French Open and Wimbledon titles in the same season) since Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama in 2003, and the first team to win both the Wimbledon junior and senior doubles titles together (achieving the former in 2013). The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. Christine Marie Evert (born December 21, 1954) is an American former professional tennis player. One of the most successful players of all time, she was ranked as the world No. 1 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for 260 weeks ( fourth-most of all time), and finished as the year-end No. 1 seven times: 1974-1978, 1980 and 1981. Evert won 157 singles titles, including 18 majors (among which a record seven French Open titles and a joint-record six US Open titles). The racket sport traditionally named lawn tennis, invented in Edgbaston, Warwickshire, England, now commonly known simply as tennis, is the direct descendant of what is now denoted real tennis or royal tennis, which continues to be played today as a separate sport with more complex rules. The ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, previously known as the ITF Women's Circuit, is a series of professional tennis tournaments run by the International Tennis Federation for female professional tennis players.
