Tatev Municipality
Tatev Municipality, referred to as Tatev Community ( ''Tatev Hamaynk''), is a rural community and administrative subdivision of Syunik Province of Armenia, at the south of the country. Consisted of a group of settlements, its administrative centre is the village of Tatev (village), Tatev. Included settlements Politics Tatev Municipal Assembly (, ''Tatevi hamaynqapetaran'') is the representative body in Tatev Municipality, consisting of 15 members which are elected every five years. A municipality in Armenia referred to as community ( ''hamaynk'', plural: ''hamaynkner''), is an administrative subdivision consisting of a settlement ( ''bnakavayr'') or a group of settlements ( ''bnakavayrer'') that enjoys local self-government. The settlements are classified as either towns ( ''kaghakner'', singular ''kaghak'') or villages ( ''gyugher'', singular ( ''gyugh''). The administrative centre of a community could either be an urban settlement (town) or a rural settlement (village). Two-thirds of the population are now urbanized. As of 2017, 63.6% of Armenians live in urban areas as compared to 36.4% in rural. As of the end of 2017, Armenia has 503 municipal communities (including Yerevan) of which 46 are urban and 457 are rural. The capital, Yerevan, also has the status of a community. Shinuhayr
Shinuhayr () is a village in the Tatev Municipality of the Syunik Province in Armenia, 9 km south of Goris, on the left bank of the Vorotan River, on the plateau, about 1500 meters above sea level. The distance from the province center of Kapan is about 68 km. The village under the name of Shinher was included in the Zangezur ''uezd'' within the Elizavetpol Governorate of Russian Empire. During the Soviet years, it was part of the Zangezur province of the Armenian SSR, and from 1930, it was part of the Goris region. Since 1995, it has been part of the Syunik province of RA, since 2015 it is part of the enlarged Tatev community, is the largest settlement and center of the community. Country Of Living
Country of Living (), also known as Country to Live, Living Country or Land of Living, is an Armenian political party. It was founded in 2021 and is currently led by Mane Tandilyan. History The party held its founding congress on 15 August 2021, the founders of the party are Mesrop Arakelyan and Mane Tandilyan. Mane Tandilyan, a previous member of Bright Armenia, was unanimously elected Chairwoman. Meanwhile, Mesrop Arakelyan of the Mission Party announced that he was merging the Mission Party with the Country of Living party. Tandilyan and Arakelyan both formerly served as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs under Nikol Pashinyan. Shant Alliance Nationalist Party
The Shant Alliance Nationalist Party, also known as the Shant Alliance () is an Armenian political party. History The Shant Alliance Nationalist Party was founded in 2021 by Shahen Harutyunyan, the son of Shant Harutyunyan, a Soviet-era political dissident. The party participated in municipal elections in November 2021. The party decided to run only in certain communities within the Syunik Province. The incumbent mayor of Kapan (Syunik's regional capital), Gevorg Parsyan, led the Shant Alliance's electoral list. In the town of Tatev, the party won 6 seats in the municipal council. On 11 November 2021, the Shant Alliance signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Country of Living party. Svarants
Svarants () is a village in the Tatev Municipality of the Syunik Province in Armenia. Geography The village is located in the upper reaches of the Tatev River, in the valley, on the northern slopes of Aramazd Mountain, at an altitude of 1750-1800 m above sea level. The distance from Kapan, the regional center of Syunik province, is about 51 km. The administrative area of the village occupies 1621.20 ha, of which agricultural lands are 1562.95 ha. According to the operational purpose, the agricultural lands consist of: arable land 191.24ha, grasslands 42.16ha, pastures 799.38ha and other land types 527ha. Khot, Armenia
Khot () is a village in the Tatev Municipality of the Syunik Province in Armenia. It is located on the left side of the Vorotan river, 67 kilometers from the regional center of Kapan. On the cliffs below Khot are the ruins of Hin Khot (Old Khot), the previous location of the village until the 1970s. The village was included under the same name in the Zangezur uezd within the Elizavetpol Governorate of Russian Empire. During the Soviet years, Khot was a part of the Zangezur province of the Armenian SSR, and from 1930, it was part of the Goris region.
