Tasmania JackJumpers
The Tasmania JackJumpers are an Australian professional basketball team based in Hobart, Tasmania, who entered the National Basketball League (NBL) in the 2021–22 season, and play their home games at MyState Bank Arena and the Silverdome. The team is named after the jack jumper ant, a species of venomous ant predominantly found in the island state. The JackJumpers won their maiden NBL championship in 2024. Franchise history In February 2019, the National Basketball League (NBL) indicated that Tasmania was on the league's future expansion radar. Twelve months later, it was revealed that Tasmania had secured an NBL licence and a team would enter the league in the 2021–22 season. 2024 NBL Finals
The 2024 NBL Finals was the postseason tournament of the National Basketball League's 2023–24 season. As Australia and New Zealand participated in 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualification, the league took a break during the FIBA international window of 18–28 February 2024. Format The finals was played in February and March 2024 between the top six teams of the regular season, consisting of three play-in games, two best-of-three semifinal series and the best-of-five Grand Final series, where the highest seed hosted the first, third and fifth games. The top two seeds in the regular season automatically qualified to the semifinals. Teams ranked three to six competed in the play-in tournament. Jarrad Weeks
Jarrad Weeks (born 11 July 1989) is an Australian basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Tasmania JackJumpers of the National Basketball League (NBL). Early life Weeks was born in Melbourne, Victoria. He attended Barker College in Sydney, New South Wales. Professional career NBL and Germany In 2010, Weeks joined the Sydney Kings of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played two games in 2010–11 and made no appearances in 2011–12. He then played 10 games in 2012–13 and 12 games in 2013–14. For the 2014–15 season, Weeks played for Ehingen Urspring in the German ProA. In 27 games, he averaged 11.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. 2024–25 NBL Season
The 2024–25 NBL season was the 47th season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. A total of ten teams contested in the 2024–25 season. The league extended its partnership with ESPN Australia. All games are available live on ESPN, Kayo Sports and Fetch TV. Network 10 broadcasts the marquee 2:30pm Sunday game on Network 10’s main channel followed by the second game at 4:30pm on 10 Bold and 10Play.
